A HOME COOKED MEAL AT AUNT JEANS:))

DSC_0006

A FEW FLOWER PHOTOS FROM  IN AND AROUND JEAN’S FLOWER BEDS TODAY

A nice quiet morning spent relaxing around the rig with the afternoon being spent over at Aunt Jeans.  Kelly was able to help Jean with some computer stuff while I managed to get all her outside flowering shrubs watered.   Jean did the cooking tonight with her friend Pat bringing over a delish dish of baked apples.   A tasty pork loin roast done up with my favorites of mashed potatoes and gravy plus cream corn.  Had ourselves a great round table supper.

THINK I EVEN CAUGHT MYSELF SOME ZZZZZZZZZZZ’S IN THAT BLUE CHAIR THIS AFTERNOON

I have always written my blog with an emphasis on honesty and I’m not one to flower things up when in fact there are no flowers or grundge it down when there is no need to do that either.  My opinions have always been forthcoming with attention paid to not only my own feelings but the feelings of others as well.  Never my intention to be rude or sarcastic and never my intention to cast myself as someone I am not.  I try to keep a respectful balance to my thoughts, feelings and opinions.  Not always easy of course but necessary if I want to continue writing my blog in the manner I do.  And yes the pressing business in Congress Arizona does have to do with our house but that is all I am at liberty to say about that.  Looks like we will be rolling out early Sunday morning.

We plugged into Dave’s brand spanking new 30 amp service for the first time about 9 this morning then kicked on our A/C unit.  ‘WOW’, didn’t take us long to have the coach down to 70F whereupon I had to put on one of my warm flannel winter shirts.  I immediately felt so much better in the cooler air.  I was a new person. A few thermostat adjustments and we soon settled on a comfortable 75F.  Ahhhhhhhhhhh such sweet relief at last:)))))))

And here’s another bonus from our hosts JoAnne and Dave.  They have high speed lightning fast internet service here so Dave gave us the password to their internet and we were able to update our Garmin GPS maps in no time at all.  Mighty fine people these folks.

JEAN’S PAD IS JUST BELOW THE FLAG TO THE LEFT

It’s been over two weeks since we left Bayfield and in that time we have watched very little television and certainly not any network news channels.  This has turned out to be a welcome break from our normal routines of constantly checking news channels back home.  With all the election madness here south of the border we had become quite caught up in the circus like atmosphere.  I had become very emotionally involved with the daily chaos on the campaign trail and found what was and still is happening to America very disturbing.  The past couple weeks on the road has given me a welcome and much needed break from all that and of course the break from network news came just at the right time.  Don’t know who is going to win this election but I do know this fine country of America is going to be in an even bigger mess the day after the election than the day before the election.  It’s inevitable and cannot be avoided.  The irreversible damage has already been done to the country and the damage following the election will be epic.  Hang on America, your future is about to enter an even darker period.  Only thing we as Canadians can do is to stand by and wish you the best in the coming stormy days, months and years ahead.  Wished I could say common sense, decency and logic will prevail but it hasn’t so far so I am not at all optimistic about your future.  Good luck America and know we Canadians are your best friends and wish you nothing but the best in your coming trials and tribulations.

JUST OUTSIDE JEANS LANAI DOOR

GROANER’S CORNER:(( On the first day God created the cow. God said, "You must go to the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer. I will give you a life span of sixty years."
The cow said, "That's a kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. Let me have twenty years and I'll give back the other forty." And God agreed.
On the second day, God created the dog. God said, "Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. I will give you a life span of twenty years." The dog said, "That's too long to be barking. Give me ten years and I'll give back the other ten." So God agreed (*sigh*).
On the third day God created the monkey. God said, "Entertain people, do monkey tricks, make them laugh. I'll give you a twenty year life span." Monkey said, "How boring, monkey tricks for twenty years? I don't think so. Dog gave you back ten, so that's what I'll do too, okay?" And God agreed again (...???...)
On the fourth day God created man. God said, "Eat, sleep, play, enjoy. Do nothing, just enjoy, enjoy. I'll give you twenty years."
Man said, "What? Only twenty years? No way, man. Tell you what, I'll take my twenty, and the forty cow gave back, and the ten dog gave back and the ten monkey gave back. That makes eighty, okay?" "Okay," said God. "You've got a deal."
So, that is why for the first twenty years we eat, sleep, play, enjoy, and do nothing. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain our grandchildren; and for the last ten years we sit in front of the house and bark at everybody.

  1. Al you are right about your efforts to be honest and forthright POLITELY. I appreciate it greatly. I would rather have someone tell me "I can't say right now" instead of lying to me. Thank you. from the OFM.

  5. Al,
For years I've always thought of how nice it would be if we could add Canada's 12 Provinces to our US states, now I wonder if you could ask Parliament to add our states to your Provinces....I need a time out!!

  6. Jean's digs are lovely, especially all that nicely maintained green space. The flowers are so pretty - and in November! How nice to have a yummy home cooked meal, away from home :-) Democracy is nothing if not messy, we'll survive whatever crazy outcome we get next week.

  7. I am sooo glad that you are feeling better--and I love that you are so honest about everything--so keep on being that way--Love Jeans place--
Some days I almost 'panic' about what is going to happen here in the future--but it also scares me as I wonder just how much damage the present President has done without our even knowing it yet--I do fear for our country--but????
I just have to leave it in God's hands--
have a great couple more days at Jeans--
    love and laughter, di

  8. If only we had a candidate anywhere near as knowledgeable abundant dependable as our current President. Along with a Congress that would actually do its job!

  9. How great to spend quality time with Aunt Jean around her dining table with a wonderful home cooked meal..You are pretty on spot about this election being a doozy..However, we are still the greatest country in the world and yes, Democracy is a messy business..We will get through this because of our wonderful "of the people"...and a little prayer wouldn't hurt...I sure wish we were headed to Florida this year, but it looks like Texas (if we even get to go) will be our destination.

  10. Thank you for your kind thoughts, Al. You are right. I came into this world in 1943 growing up thinking I, too, could be president of this country if I studied hard in this place where women are at least considered equal. Turns out not to be true in any way. Women are fair game and anything in men's clothes, no matter how crude a creature, is treated better. The only way I even succeeded in business is because outsiders/banks, etc., had to interact with my associates/employees instead of with me and thought I was a man (with my name Terry). I experienced the same personal assaults in the workplace, including in civilian government (Navy) and private enterprises, that other women have discussed. And, nothing has changed.

  11. The phony, two party polarity,
is a coordinated charade. The good cop, bad cop nonsense is an act, to
keep dissent divided roughly in half, while the preplanned agenda
proceeds, no matter how much hand ringing & finger pointing the actors
do, to convince us their emnity is real. They laugh at the TV
brainwashed people, so easily divided against each other, into opposing
impotent camps, mimicking the TV social engineers, instead of uniting
against their common enemy, the tax sheltered & tax subsidized,
transnational Criminal Regime, called US Inc. occupying DC.
    K~
