ANOTHER MIGHTY FINE MORNING IN THE COUNTRYSIDE
I refuse to use the word cold so let me just say it was slightly on the heavier side of cool when Pheebs and I headed off this morning and oh how great it felt. Donned a lite jacket and we did crack on just a touch of heat in the Jeep for half an hour as we rolled along with our windows down. By early afternoon some humidity had creeped back in and we had our A/C running in the house for awhile. Nice and cool again tonight so I might even have to drag a blanket over myself.
‘HEY MOM DO I REALLY LOOK MORE LIKE DAD’??
It was another beautiful morning with big white fluffy clouds slowly marching across our Southwestern Ontario sky . Nice breeze coming in off the lake and very little traffic around anywhere. We again basically had all the country roads to ourselves as we puddled along with no particular destination in mind.
A BIG SKY DAY
Stopped for a leg stretch in the Hullett Marsh and just stood for awhile by the Jeep soaking up Mother Natures peaceful surroundings. No humans or human sounds anywhere. No snortin ATV's, no ‘bang-bang’ hunters, no trucks or cars going by and the only sounds reaching our ears were the westerly winds playing through nearby tree branches followed softly by Hullets own natural sounds of the Marsh. Had myself one of those special Senior moments:))
WATER LEVELS IN THE MARSH ARE SO LOW IN THE PONDS THAT SOME CREEKS ARE COMPLETELY DRY LIKE THIS ONE
THIS HIGH AN DRY DOCK IS USUALLY USED FOR LAUNCHING CANOES AND KAYAKS
PHEEBE WAITS PATIENTLY WHILE I TAKE A FEW PHOTOS IN THE MARSH
A few more stops along the way and I noticed each time we stepped out of the Jeep I could hear Cricket sounds. In the cornfields, the bean fields, along the roadside ditches and around nearby ponds a joyous chorus of Crickets. How encouraging to know our long hot and dry summer will soon be coming to an end.
A LAZY SUNDAY MORNING AT THIS FARM
‘I’LL GIVE YOU A SMOOCH’
;OK THEN I’LL GIVE YOU A SMOOCH;
‘AHHHH LET’S FACE IT WE’RE JUST A COUPLE A SMOOCHIE GUYS’
‘HOW’S ABOUT A BIG JUICY WET ONE IN THE EAR’
NOW HOW’S THAT FOR A HAPPY CONTENTED YOUNG HORSE FACE:))
Pheebs and I were home shortly after 11 and it was still pleasant enough outside for me to put in another couple hours on our front yard project. I don't work as fast as I once did so things do take longer to do but that's Okay I am getting used to it. Working on our center flowerbed around our pond now and things are slowly coming together as I first have to get into the shrubbery cutting out old growth and untangle plants that have grown into each other. Should have been doing this a long time ago but no matter I'm having fun working away at it now and I'll be back outside in Monday mornings cool refreshing air at it again.........:))
GROANER'S CORNER:(( This duck walks into a convenience store and asks the clerk, "Do you have any grapes?" The clerk says no, and the duck leaves.The next day the duck returns and asks, "Do you have any grapes?" The clerk again says no, and the duck leaves. The day after that the duck walks in the store again and asks "Do you have any grapes?" The clerk screams at the duck, "You've come in here the past two days and asked if we had any grapes. I told you no every time that we don't have any grapes! I swear if you come back in here again, and ask for grapes, I'll nail your webbed feet to the floor!!" The duck leaves and returns the next day. This time he asks, "Do you have any nails?" The clerk replies "No," and the duck said, "Okay, then. Got any grapes?"
