MORNING IN OUR NEIGHBORS JOSHUA TREE GARDEN
As nice as it was to spend 5 days in the rig it was just as nice moving my things back into the house late Saturday morning & resuming my old routines. Guess you could say I always look forward to something different but also enjoy my same-same routines as well. Well, for awhile anyway.
After a week of company wrapped up with our visit to Blogger-Fest I think we’ll keep a pretty low profile now for awhile & just kind of putter around the old home front for a bit. Better give it a few days before I bring up the topic of heading off to California’s Mojave's National Preserve soon.
TIS THE TIME OF YEAR FOR NEST BUILDING HERE IN OUR LITTLE SLICE OF ARIZONA
Think it was around noon when John (Sarge) & Jackie dropped around to see how we’re doing so we sat ourselves up on the porch for a spell out of the Sun. Wasn’t long & we saw a familiar yellow Jeep go by then return a short time later. It was Janna, Mike, & Emmi stopping by. They hadn’t met John & Jackie before. Had ourselves a rousing chat before John & Jackie had to head on back home. Janna & Mike stayed awhile longer & Mike volunteered to install our new KC Fog Lights on the Jeep. Janna & Mike slipped on home for lunch & Mike later returned with some tools. Didn’t take him long to remove the old fogs & hook up the new fogs. And they worked too. We had also bought a new Oxygenic shower head for the RV & Mike was able to install that for us as well. Kelly gets a little nervous if she knows I’m going to try & do things like that so not wanting to up her stress levels it is always best I just step aside & let someone far more experienced & competent do those kinds of things. Generally turns out to be one of my better decisions as a rule.
THANKS MIKE MUCH APPRECIATED:))
It was after 11 before I finally crawled into bed Saturday night. Editing about 60 photos, looking up links, & cross checking photos for identification took up a lot of time. After talking to Kelly this morning with a clearer head on my shoulders I was able to make a few changes & correct some info. Below is my re-freshed memory update to Saturday’s Blogger-Fest. Oh & by the way, I did get myself a little gussied up for Saturday’s event. Left my baggy butt jeans at home, slipped into a pair of dress pants I hadn’t worn since early April of 2013, & wore my very much most best favorite Thrift Store shirt I found last month in Borrego Springs. Groovy:))
A few of these photos are repeats because I didn’t have an ID on them Saturday night.
<<< This is Betty & Joe from JOE & BETTY'S ADVENTURES sitting behind Doug & Yuma . I don’t have a photo for the Heyduke folks at On The Road Of Retirement but we met these 2 fine people as well. Chatted with fellow dog lovers Kelly & Angela from RV Life Is Good for a bit & it’s always nice to meet someone thinking as we do about our treasured pets. My ears did catch a side comment from someone suggesting I put too many photos of Pheebs in my posts. Well of course I do….wouldn’t you:)) Another fellow had a question about what resolution I use for my photos & of course I didn’t know. That was kinda embarrassing for me.

And last but not least….. we may have been late arriving at Blogger-Fest but by golly we were just about two of the last people to leave. Now how about that:))
GROANER’S CORNER:(( Howard came home from work one evening and there was his wife Miriam in the kitchen crying out loud.
"What's the matter, darling?" he asked her.
"I just don't know what to do," said Miriam. "Because we were eating in for a change, I cooked us a special dinner - but the dog has just eaten it."
"Don't worry," said Howard, "I'll get us another dog."
Man oh man, there are Bloggerfest pictures all over the place. Fun stuff.
ReplyDeleteNow I sure would like a fix it guy like Mike hanging around my rig! I've got a list of little things that I can't figure out how to fix. I've tried, but they're just beyond me.
ReplyDeleteHey, those are good pretzels, but one person can't eat three pounds of them. That's why I left them. ;)
Glad you went, great recap(s). We did not get wind of it till we were planned way past it but maybe next year! Never too many pics of Pheebs, and why would it be a concern for anyone anyway?
ReplyDeleteMore great pictures and glad you had a good time.
ReplyDeleteYou will love that shower head.
So glad you could make! I'm sure there will be lots more pictures being passed around. Heck, I haven't even caught my breathe yet from all the activities in our group and the blogger-fest..... maybe today.
ReplyDeleteReally good of you to prioritize Kelly's stress level and "let" Mike install the showerhead - you're a giver :-) Love the birds....the berry-in-beak shot is great! Noticed you were looking pretty dapper at the fest - and yet everyone still recognized you!!! Thanks for the additional pics - great to see more that profile shots of those familiar folks.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Al--glad Mike was able to get everything working for you guys!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how Blogger Fest slipped right on by us.. had we known, we may have stuck around Quartzsite a little longer. Looks like a great meet up.. thanks for sharing a slice of it with us
ReplyDeletePretty lucky to have a guy like Mike stop by and help out. You've got some mighty fine friends. Glad to see more pictures from the blogger-fest since I didn't get to go and that's a bummer for me.
ReplyDeleteNice that you have your very own 'handyman'!
ReplyDeleteNice Post!
