EARLIEST APPOINTMENT KELLY CAN GET WITH THE LONDON LIVER SPECIALIST IS DECEMBER 16TH………OH OH!!

DSC_0089

Kelly was back to the Goderich Medical Clinic for more blood work this morning. This will continue on a monthly basis now as her blood is checked to see how her Liver is doing. She already contacted the Wickenburg hospital in Arizona about continuing those tests through the winter months & they said sure, no problem & they will fax the results to Kelly's Doctor here in Canada. Can be done at any hospital as we are traveling & it is not expensive. And a call on our answering machine this afternoon from Dr. Haffner's office in Stratford regarding an appointment for Kelly with a Liver specialist Doctor in London Ontario for December 16th. Oh Oh!! Kelly phoned the London Doctor's office & re-booked the appointment for mid April. They did not feel the appointment was urgent & said April would be just fine.

The day was definitely not as hot or humid as Tuesday so I was able to get some yard work maintenance done in the earlier morning. I did skip our Pine forest walk again though.  Should be good to go Thursday morning as our temps are slated to drop overnight.  At the moment tornado watch warnings have been issued for areas about an hour south of us as heavy storms are moving across that region.  Our internet has kicked out a couple times tonight.

No sign of our tree cutters today & that is just as well until the days cool off a bit. It was a perfect day for a motorcycle ride though & I did take advantage of that to take myself out for a nice enjoyable toot around the countryside. Not to hot, not to cold, & with the blue sky sporting big white fluffy clouds it was great to feel that wind trying to relocate my face again.

Suggested to Kelly we head for the South-West earlier than October 19th but of course that idea didn't fly. Well, at least I keep trying. I'd like to slip through Arizona's Monument Valley maybe. Of course the sooner we get away the better our chances of that. Just exactly which route we choose once we get to Colorado is all going to depend on when we leave here & the weather in the mountains. Good weather maybe we go west up & over the mountains. Bad weather maybe we go south through New Mexico. We won't know till we get into that area.

Been awhile since I posted my 12 step program version of Bloggers Anonymous. A few years ago I went to the bookshelf & dusted off one of my good old AA books, sat down at my keyboard & opened the pages. There before me was the official Alcoholics Anonymous Twelve Steps To Recovery program that was so instrumental to my sobriety years ago.  Taking some thought from that 12 step program I came up with my own version of Blogger’s Anonymous which I first posted in 2009…………………………………

‘BLOGGER’S ANONYMOUS’
Step One: "We admitted we were powerless over blogging - that our lives had become unmanageable."
Step Two: "Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to our lawnmowers."
Step Three: "Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of our Spouses as we understand them."
Step Four: "Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of our thought patterns & blog archives."
Step Five: "Admitted to our Spouses, to ourselves, & to another blogger person the exact nature of our blogging woes."
Step Six: "Were entirely ready to have our Spouse remove all nasty posts from our blogs."
Step Seven: "Humbly asked Her/Him to remove our shortcomings, our spell checkers, & our publish buttons"
Step Eight: "Made a list of all fellow Bloggers we had commented to, and became willing to make amends to them all."
Step Nine: "Made direct amends to such Bloggers wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them, their rants, or their blusterings."
Step Ten: "Continued to take personal writing inventory and when we were wrong promptly didn't blog about it."
Step Eleven: "Sought through humbleness and fear to improve our conscious contact with our Spouse as we understood Her/Him, begging only for knowledge of Her/His will for us and maybe our keyboards back to carry that out."
Step Twelve: "Having had a Blogger's awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to all fellow Bloggers, and to practice these principles in all our restructured blogging affairs."

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A Post Office worker at the main sorting office finds an unstamped, poorly hand-written envelope addressed to God. He opens it and discovers it is from an elderly lady, distressed because some thief robbed her of 100 dollars. She will be cold and hungry for the rest of the month if she doesn't receive some divine intervention. The worker organizes a collection amongst the other postal workers, who dig deep and come up with 96 dollars. They get it to her by special courier the same morning. A week later, the same postal worker recognizes the same hand on another envelope. He opens it and reads: 'Dear God, Thank you for the 100 dollars. This month would have been so bleak otherwise. P.S. It was four dollars short but that was probably those thieving bastards at the Post Office.'

What do you say to a hitchiker with one leg? Hop in.

  1. Love the 12 Steps!!

Looks like fall is beginning to happen around you up there in Canada. Some beautiful fall photos, especially that final one with the lake and the geese.

  4. Your last photo looks like a Monet painting. I'm so glad Kelly decided to re-book the appointment. And as long as you have the medical facility in Wickenberg you should be ok.

Sure glad Kelly could arrange a 'better' appointment with the Dr Liver. Was just in and out of Wickenburg hospital for tests and very impressed by their services.

Hope you can hit the road early.
