OUR PLANS SOMEHOW CHANGED OVERNIGHT…….

DSC_0006

NEW DIGS, COMPLETE WITH A TREE…..YAAAAY:))

When I went to bed last night, this morning’s plans were to pack up the rig, take on some water at the Bouse Community Park & move to a new location we had scouted out on Plomosa Road yesterday.  Sometime in the night those plans somehow changed.DSC_0001

A TOUCH OF PINK IN THE DESERT THIS MORNING

I was informed this morning that yes, we would be packing up the rig, and yes, we would be taking on water at Bouse but no, we would not be moving over to Plomosa Road.  Well, that was OK with me because I generally always enjoy any kind of move & a chance to see some new scenery anyway. regardless of where it was.

IT WAS A NICE ARIZONA DAY FOR TRAVEL

We knew THE GOOD LUCK DUCK folks were in our area somewhere nearby & I had figured we would probably meet them in the next couple days.  But, with our overnight change of plans we missed the opportunity.  Maybe our paths will again converge next winter folks:))

Had been a few rumors floating around about the Bouse Community Park not letting outsiders dump anymore.  I can tell you now, that isn’t true.  We dumped our tanks there this morning & took on a load of fresh water.  Some say the best water in the territory.  Lady camp host was very friendly & said to let folks know they are open for dumping & water 7 days a week sun up to sun down.  They are located on Plomosa Road’s right side just as your coming into Bouse from Quartzsite.  $10.00 for dump & water.

I LIKE OUR NEW NEIGHBORS

And, a few parting thoughts about the BLM lands where we were parked near Bouse.  If you want a sure fire good Verizon connection just find Yellowbird Road which runs off highway 72 in Bouse’s northwest end.  Follow it west for a few blocks until the pavement ends.  Continue on the dirt road for half a mile or so & you will begin to see oodles & oodles of room to boon dock on a hard packed rocky surface.  You should be good to go for your Verizon signal anywhere there.  Nice area with miles upon miles of Jeep roads crisscrossing the landscape.  RVing friends have seen Big Horn Sheep in this area but we weren’t so lucky.

And, lots of great boondocking sites along Plomosa Road as well but the Verizon signal out along there can be a bit touch & go.  I particularly like this area because of the greenery & trees & the fact you can boon dock right up against the hills & mountains & walk out your door & right up the mountain.

THE FURRY GUYS CHECKING OUT OUR NEW DIGS

Just not feeling up to par tonight so it’s a shorter blog.  Tired…………….

GROANER’S CORNER:((  A three-year-old boy went with his dad to see a litter of puppies. On returning home, he breathlessly informed his mother, "There were 2 boy puppies and 2 girl puppies." "How did you know?" his mother asked. "Daddy picked them up and looked underneath." He replied. "I think it's printed on the bottom."

  1. Al, I love your description of the places you find and your willingness to share them. I sure wish Rich and I were still in the motorhome, we'd be on our way to meet some of the lovely people I feel I know through blogs.

I don't know if you follow his blog, but Glenn from To Simplify has a post about some what he describes as very good boon docking ebooks. They are called the "Frugal Shunpiker's Guides". I believe you are a Shunpiker! Just in case you don't have his blog address: http://www.tosimplify.net/ I thought you might be interested.

Pats and hugs to Pheebs and Motormouse pats and hugs from Jack and me.

FYI any kind of kidney stone, even if there is no back pain, will tire you out physically.

  10. Nice change of place! Don't be worried to take a little break yourselves. After all, that's what you're out there for, isn't it?

  11. Hmmm--guess our little spot out in the Bouse desert won't be so private anymore. And it is not BLM land it is state land which opens another whole can of worms. :))

  12. Al, I like that you openly share these places with us all and don't try to selfishly keep them all to yourself. Very generous, and how it should be. BLM and even state lands belong to us all.
