REPOSTING MY ‘BLOGGER’S ANONYMOUS’ 12 STEP PROGRAM:))

DSC_0307

ALL OF TONIGHT’S BLOG PHOTOS ARE FROM OUR BOONDOCKING SPOT AT MITRY LAKE NORTH OF YUMA ARIZONA A FEW YEARS AGO

Another mighty fine Arizona weather day & we took full advantage of it by stretching out in our loungers & reading.

Well, Ivan sure boggled my mind this morning (I’m easily boggled) with a list of withering info about his super multi-functionally talented cell phone.  I just figured a phone was a phone was a phone….period.  Apparently not & who knew!!  What’s next, an anti gravitational application to enable people to lift people off the ground & float them over tree tops…..hmmmmm, I wonder:))

It seems Kelly & I are spending more & more time on our computers reading more & more blogs these days.  We seem to get caught up in link hopping from one blog to another.  Kelly, on her laptop a few feet away will turn to me & say, “did you read ??’s blog this morning” & I might say “not yet” & if it’s a new blog I’ll say, “send me over that bloggers link.”  I have sooooo many blogs on my desktop right now that I am long overdue for professional help to keep this all straight!! (where’s Dr Phil when you need him) I lose track of people’s blogs, forget to follow through on questions whether through emails or comments & I always have this nagging feeling I have forgotten someone, which in reality….I have:((  I sometimes fear this most enjoyable blogging habit has become an all consuming Monster.   I think it is once again time to repost my 12 steps of Bloggers Anonymous and follow my own advice for a change!!!!!!!!

‘BLOGGERS ANONYMOUS’

Step One:  "We admitted we were powerless over Blogging - that our free time has become unmanageable."

Step Two:  "Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to a simpler time before computers."

Step Three:  "Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of our Spouses as we understand them."

Step Four:  "Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of our Blogger thoughts & Blog archives."

Step Five:   "Admitted to our Spouses, to ourselves, & to another Blogger person the exact nature of our blogging woes."

Step Six:  "Were entirely ready to have our Spouse remove all nasty posts from our Blogs."

Step Seven:  "Humbly asked Her/Him to remove our shortcomings, our spell checkers, & our publish buttons"

Step Eight:  "Made a list of all fellow Bloggers we had commented to, and became willing to make amends to them all."

Step Nine:  "Made direct amends to such Bloggers wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them, their Blogs, or their Blog followers ."

Step Ten:  "Continued to take personal written inventory and when we were wrong promptly didn't blog about it."

Step Eleven:  "Sought through humbleness and fear to improve our conscious contact with our Spouse as we understood Her/Him, begging only for knowledge of Her/His will for us and maybe our keyboards back to carry that out."

Step Twelve:  "Having had a Blogger's awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to all fellow Bloggers, and to practice these principles in all our restructured Blogging affairs."    10-4!!

Hi, my names AL & I am a Blogger:))

Well, with my love of music I guess it was inevitable that sooner or later I would be dragged into the oh sooooo confusing, but wonderful world of…….Apple.   I now have a purple 5th generation IPod Nano Mossmagator & am in the early stages of total mind boggle at all the things this slippery little wafer thin thing can do.  Kelly downloaded my entire music library into it yesterday & this morning I was able to wiggle, squiggle & contort one of my fingers around on the miniscule buttons enough to actually here, ‘Along The Santa Fe Trail’ by the Sons Of The Pioneers emanating from my Sony headphones.  With that slight bit of encouragement I am now rocketed into Apples Galactic Audio Galaxy.  Wow, seems like only yesterday I remember my Mother, Uncle & Grandpa gathered around the big old floor model Marconi tube radio on a Sunday night listening to Amos n Andy.  And that’s long before any of us at home had ever heard the word…..Television!!

Forgot to mention in Friday’s blog that all the birds I took photos of at the Willcox Community Center were alive & well.  The Heron & a very small owl looked stuffed but they were both very much alive.  Not all the bird photos turned out so I didn’t have the Turkey Vulture & a few others in the post.  Lighting on the stage was very low & I know my photos are all on the ‘soft’ side but sometimes ya just gotta go with what ya got at the time.

And what did we think of the pie we bought from Stouts in Willcox Friday??  Let me just say that south of Bayfield Ontario where we live is a Mennonite/Amish bakery where they make all their own pies from apples right there in their own farm’s orchard.  Without exception, we have never had better pies anywhere than from that Mennonite bakery.  Those ladies know how to do it right:))

GROANER’S CORNER:((  A child comes home from his first day at school. Mother asks, “What did you learn today?”

The kid replies, “Not enough. I have to go back tomorrow.”

  1. Your post from yesterday with all the birds had me off trying to understand the Willcox Playa. Or the dry lake South of the town.

Is this where all the cranes land that you have blogged about for the last several years? Or is it somewhere closer to Ray and Jeanie's place?

What do you know about the dry lake? Have you ever seen water in the lake?

  3. I'm flabbergasted! Almost speechless, but not quite!! You actually have an iPod Nano?? Next thing we know, you'll be making up a 12 Step Program for iPod users!! Congrats, though, you'll love it, I'm sure.

I've had pies made by Mennonites and, I agree, they are very hard to beat! But, to me, there are no bad pies - only good and better!

  4. Al, I hope this I-pod thing isn't contagious, I just mastered taking a phone call, I don't answer text messages , except with a phone call, I have all I can do to half way keep up with blogging technology, what ever happened to wrenchs and spark plugs you could change yourself. Help, I'm stuck in the last generation before high tech. Be safe out there, San & Donna.

  5. Al, I guess I'm a blog addict also since I follow over 100 blogs too. Rather than "manually" checking each & every blog (or forgetting some), I use Google Reader & "subscribe" to all the blogs I want checked. The Reader does it for me & then displays any new posts from all those blogs without me having to physically open a blog. It's tons easier & I don't miss anything (heaven forbid!). And it's free.

  6. Yea for Al getting an IPod, I (Janna) got an IPod touch for Christmas but haven't downloaded much music to it due to our 5GB Verizon cap.

  7. Many days I just can't possibly read or comment on all the blogs I follow. Sometimes, you just have to pick and choose. :)

  11. I am sad you fell off the Blogger wagon again. I did see it coming though.
You could be sitting in a lounger with it 12 degrees F below zero like I am and read and answer blogs.
You are in the Wild wild west and going places we all hope to see some day. I call you the forward RECON man for my future RV travels.
Take chill out days when you need them and when you see something different take a pic and write about it. Everybody loves the way you do things.

Keep on making memories and stay healthy.
    Tom

  13. Hello, my name is Karen and I am a Blog-aholic!

Hey Al, if you happen to have read my blog post yesterday, there is a photo of some cute little speakers I use with my MP3 player. They don't use any outside source of electricity, just powered off the Ipod or MP3 player. They plug in the headphone jack. Perfect for boondocking and play nice quiet music without having those danged earbuds falling outta my ears all the time!

  14. Hmm it looks like your blog ate my first comment (it was extremely long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog writer but I'm still new to the whole thing. Do you have any recommendations for novice blog writers? I'd genuinely appreciate it.
