It was about 5:30 this morning when I read Rick’s blog about the tragedy that has struck down our fellow RV & Blogger friends, MARGIE & BRUCE. That was about 6 hours ago & as I sit here in a Cyber Café in Wingham Ontario I am still in a state of shock & disbelief. All morning my mind has been returning to Margie’s posts over the past year & both her & Bruce’s emails. I am remembering her positive attitude with life. I am remembering many of her writings & her ability to speak her mind when needed. Many of her post’s were educational as she took us from place to place. Her writings were filled with hope & the absolute joy they were having as full time RVing blogger folks. It was easy to see their love of life through her photos & daily posts. Margie & Bruce’s dedication to their Grandchildren was especially evident this past summer.
We never met Margie & Bruce but one doesn’t have to meet someone to miss them. Our tight knit little blogging community out here is like family. We have our differences & we have our minor squabbles from time to time but it is nevertheless, family. I feel much closer to my friends here on the blog than I do to many people I actually know here at home. Margie & Bruce were instrumental in keeping this family together through her writings. And for that I will always be grateful to them.
Margie was generally the first commenter on my blog many nights & I would always look for her. I am going to miss that. And, I am going to miss reading Bruce & Margie’s Full Time Journey every day.
My heart goes out to the family & little dog, Annie. It will be a new day’s dawning now for all of them. A page has been turned, a chapter ended, but the book of Margie & Bruce’s life will live on through her many writings & photos. We will always remember you. Take care & keep that big rig rolling in search of new sunrises & sunsets. Take care guys……… Al & The Bayfield Bunch
Well said Al.
ReplyDeleteThank you Al, for a touching tribute to two good people. I for one and I am sure many more that read your blog, will agree with all you said. This is a family and for many, the only family they know. We all feel a terrible loss, but are grateful for having read and "known" Margie and Bruce.
ReplyDeleteYes, well said, Al. I am grieving and I know that Margie and Bruce's family is grieving even more. What sad, shocking news this is.
ReplyDeleteWell done Al, Margie and Bruce have had a positive impact on all our lives and words hardly seem to do enough to express the sudden loss we are all feeling.
ReplyDeleteI think that photo of the soaring hawks expresses many of our wishes for these two folks who have moved on to better place.
Al, I too was reading Rick's blog at 5:30AM,And I know in my heart there were the same tears rolling down your face as mine.I never got to meet Margie & Bruce in person either, but I was lucky enough talk to Margie on the phone when they were broke down about 50 miles from us and I offered to bring jacks and blocking. She called just as I was going out the door and said to hold on that they had just located a Tech on a Sunday. She was so sweet and thankful, and they still each sent an e-mail when they got going for my offer of help. Like you said, just like family. Life is short Al, be safe out there. Sam & Donna.
ReplyDeleteI find it amazing how fast we bond with people we have never met. Your blog today was touching and comforting to many, I know. ...and now it's time for Bruce and Margie's family to reflect on the many wonderful memories they had with them both....
ReplyDeleteAl, my heart skipped a beat as I scrolled down reading your very thoughtful post today when I came across the photograph of the two birds floating freely across the sky. That photo dosen't require words, it speaks to their lifestyle and freedom they enjoyed so much. I know they are flying high above us and hearing our thoughts and prayers today.
ReplyDeleteI found your sentiments so much inline with mine. You have a special way of doing that for your readers. Thank you for sharing your sincerest thoughts and breathtaking photos. They always move me, but today I was overcome by them.
Kindest regards,
Connie
Well said, Al. A very touching tribute to close blogging friends. Like you, I always looked forward to Margie's blog each day.
ReplyDeleteMargie and Bruce became part of my family and I will never forget them even though I only knew them a little more than 12 months via their Blogs.
ReplyDeleteMargie was like a mother hen keeping us all together with her RV Blog and her comments on ours. They have left cherished memories as they shared freely of their lifestyle and family.
We're going to miss them. Thanks Al for your lovely words and the photo which says it all.
This is very sad and shocking news. Margie & Bruce were terrific people and our hearts and prayers go out to their Daughter, Son, The "Grands" and the rest of the family and friends.
ReplyDeleteAl, your photo said it all, and the tears are flowing again.
ReplyDeleteAt least they are together....
We sat around our campfire this morning, just stunned.

You've stated the truth for so many of us. I've always realized we had different family sets, but had never really contemplated our blogging group as another family set. But you are right, this is a very special, close community that we have come to know and love. Thank you for helping us understand that. And yes, your two pictures are particularly apt.
