With clear overhead skies and slightly warmer temps for a change, I figured I had better get my legs out for a walk while my hip was feeling reasonably okay. So, that's what Pheebs and I did.

So, how do we feel about selling our little Class C Winnebago?? Well, it's a wee bit of a mixed bag but overall we are happy we 'finally' made the decision we did. Scooter had become a worry sitting out there day after day, month after month, for these past three years and especially this past year when we finally had to come to grips with the knowledge that under our present and foreseeable medical circumstances, we were not going to be able to use the RV for the purpose it was designed. There was no point in it just sitting there day after day depreciating. It's a big worry off our minds now not having to worry about winterizing and de-winterizing. I don't have to be concerned about the battery going dead in cold weather or the tires going flat, etc, etc, and, etc. We have enough worries going on without additional RV worries. As I have said before, we have not ruled out future RV travels but we will deal with that if and when it becomes a viable option again. I figure we still have at least one more trip to the great American Southwest left in us and if we can get out there one last time then by hook or by crook we will do it. Don't count us out just yet:))  |

ReplyDeleteI understand the relief. They raised my storage rent 100%, so we sold the old RV we kept in California. Someone wanted our Cabana more than us a month later, so it sold with all its contents. We drove six weeks to MOAB Utah and spent a week with our Nephew. Our old car is there and he gave us a bedroom to store our stuff. Now in Alaska packing our EEE Leisure Tyme for a four-day trip. Time will tell if we enjoy this new chapter in life. A foot long hot dog and a chocolate milk shake is a great way to celebrate the sale of any vehicle. You have me now thinking of a quick trip for a chocolate shake at GD Ritzy's a couple of miles away from here. LOL

DeleteAl, glad the RV was sold, now there will be less worries in your head; when boo-boos get us is hard to tell when & how we will be able to travel long distances. Enjoy your new freedom with less tasks to perform & more naps in U'r beautiful day room 🤪!! 🌺🌿🌼🌿

ReplyDeleteI can relate to everything you said about your RV as I was in the same state of mind when I decided to sell my 24 foot Winnebago Minnie Class C. Too hard on me to keep it clean and covered, air up the tires, change the oil etc. I miss just going out to the driveway to sit in it and remind myself of my travels. I travel by car now, or plane/motels. Much easier on this older body. I have visited all 50 states, back and forth, so have seen everything there is to see in the U. Traveling Europe now, but with tour groups who handle everything for you, so no worries. I have been following you for years, Al. I will continue to do so until one of us stops. :>)
