KIND OF A DEPRESSING RAINY DAY

A cool cloudy morning with rainy drizzle in the air.  We had to crack on a little heat in the Jeep and use the wipers a few times.  No country road walk but that was okay because my hip was still biting at me since washing the Subaru Saturday afternoon.

The folks who expressed an interest in buying our Class C Winnebago returned today bringing along their son-in-law who is a mechanic.  I sure wish we had a mechanic in the family.  Of course, it had to be raining for the test drive:((

Carin in the Shout Box asked, 'Do you ever think of taking Scooter to Kelly's appointments and dry camping in the parking lot nearby.'  Yes, we had considered that several times over this past year or so but although Scooter is a small Class C it's a little on the big side for the entrance where we drop off and pick Kelly up at Victoria Hospital and way too big for maneuvering around at the overly congested area at University Hospital's front entrance.  Kelly's Monday plasmapheresis treatment scheduled for Monday has been changed to Tuesday and Tuesday looks like rain.  If it's pouring, Pheebs and I will have to sit in the car for a couple hours wishing we had Scooter with us to get up and walk around in.

My son Sean posted an update to his Facebook page and in part says, For those of you, that don’t know, I was riding my motorcycle home last Friday, and somehow collided with the guard rail doing 100 KPH. I don’t know what exactly happened and may never know what happened. I remember being rushed to Hamilton general trauma centre in the ambulance. They told me I had

* A severe concussion, and a small bleed in my brain, which, by the grace of God, has disappeared.
* I fractured my neck in two places as well as one spot in my back
* I have multiple fractures in both of my shoulder blades
* My left collarbone is also broken.
* I have 16 fractured ribs
* The pinky joint on my left hand is broken
* My left foot is also fractured in two places.

I am covered in road, rash, and bumps and bruises and I am in a fair bit of pain, but Kim tells me I am looking better each and every day. I am really hoping to be back in the studio in a few weeks. That’s my goal. Home in the next two weeks and then in the Studio as soon as I can right after that.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A man and his girlfriend were out to dinner one night. The waiter tells them the night's special is chicken almondine and fresh fish.  "The chicken sounds good; I'll have that," the woman says.  The waiter nods. "And the vegetable?" he asks.  "Oh, he'll have the fish," she replies.

Mr. Smythe had been giving his second-grade students a short lesson on science. He had explained about magnets and showed them how they would pick up nails and other bits of iron. And now it was question time...."Class," he said, "my name begins with the letter 'M,' and I pick up things....What am I?"  A little boy on the front row said, "You're a Mother."

  2. Thanks for sharing the photo of the 56' Chevy, my first trip cross country (USA) was in the back seat of one exactly (color) like this one. I was only 7 but it started my yearning for travel. Be well & healthy, both of you. Bob
