A much better weather day so Pheebs and I did make it out for our morning walk. No rain, warmer temps, and no cold gusting winds. All of tonight's photos were taken either on our morning drive through the woodsy area of our Bayfield Pines Park or an afternoon walk around the Park's pond.
WE ROLLED OUT OUR DRIVEWAY, AROUND THE CORNER, AND HEADED FOR THE SOUTH END OF OUR PARK FIRST THING THIS MORNING |

AN AFTERNOON WALK AROUND THE PARK'S POND
GROANER'S CORNER:(( An auditor is checking the books of an airline. He is puzzled by the excess use of fuel on a Melbourne to Canberra flight. He rings up the pilot and asks for an explanation. "It was late at night," says the pilot, "Canberra was covered in fog and I lost my bearings." "I'm sorry," says the auditor, "but you'll have to bear the cost yourself." "The cost of what?" asks the pilot. "Of the bearings you lost." DAPPLED AFTERNOON SUNLIGHT ON OUR PINE FOREST FLOOR

It is a known fact that Winston Churchill had no time for women, particularly women in politics. Churchill was particularly adverse to one Nancy Ashton, a woman M.P. On one occasion he was particularly nasty to Nancy in the parliament when Nancy declared openly: "Sir if I were your wife, I would poison your drinks, mark my words.” Having already tasted his little victory earlier, Churchill was generous: "And dear lady, if I were your husband, I would drink it.”

I dunno. I live in a place where it's rarely too cold to get out. But it's often to HOT to get out, at all. So maybe having this great display of color and beauty should count a little to get you through the white/grey/cold days. I don't know. At the moment I cant think of such a spectacle to get me through the hot days.....which seem, lately to be 3/4 of the year.
ReplyDeleteI could listen to Ellen all day long! Looks like her hair is braided alternately with pink yarn... creative on Mom's part. I like her giggle. Enjoy those last fall days!!
ReplyDeleteAnother day of magnificent photos. Thank you Al!!!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I enjoyed both the gorgeous fall foliage and the Churchill groaner. Thanks for that, Linda PS. Ellen's smile/laugh is infectious and her playing wonderful (and Dad plays some pretty hot licks too!)
