SHOPPING FOR CLOTHES HAS A TENDENCY TO MAKE ME GRUMPY

Despite this morning's blustery raw, wet, and cold winds all three of us piled into the Subaru and headed for Goderich.  Kelly had decided it was high time I traded in some of my old threadbare shirts and T-shirts for some newer slightly less used threadbare shirts and T-shirts.  Well, that was alright with me except for the fact I had to go along and try stuff on.  I don't know why it is I don't have any patience for that kind of stuff, but I don't.  It has a tendency to make me grumpy.  I suppose it's why I try to make my clothes last for as many decades as I can.  If Kelly had had her way I might have ended up with a whole carload of dusty slightly used threads today but my impatient grumpiness prevailed and I came home with just three shirts and three T-shirts.  I also came home with a nasty written notice from the Goodwill Store manager saying if I didn't come into the store with a big smile on my face and a big cheery Santa Clause-like attitude next time I would not be coming into that store at all.  Of course, that was quite alright with me:))  From there we went to another Thrift store whereupon I was able to escape out a back door before Kelly even knew I was gone.  I got out of that second-hand shopper's paradise with nothing but a smirk on my face.  Of course, the highlight of our morning was a stop at A&W for two double buddy burgers and two coffees to go.  And after that it was go we went all the way home through sprinkly raindrops and buffeting westerly wind gusts.  Awww, twas quite a morning it was.  And it was a good day for spinning a tall-tale shirt and T-shirt buying yarn too:))

TAKING A DRIVE DOWN AROUND GODERICH'S HARBOR THIS MORNING WE SAW THIS FREIGHTER LEAVING PORT
GROANER'S CORNER:((  This duck walks into a convenience store and asks the clerk, "Do you have any grapes?"  The clerk says no, and the duck leaves. The next day, the duck returns and asks, "Do you have any grapes?" The clerk again says no, and the duck leaves.  The day after that, the duck walks in the store again and asks "Do you have any grapes?" The clerk screams at the duck, "You've come in here the past two days and asked if we had any grapes. I told you no every time that we don't have any grapes!  I swear if you come back in here again, and ask for grapes, I'll nail your webbed feet to the floor!!" The duck left, and returned the next day. This time he asked, "Do you have any nails?"  The clerk replied, "No," and the duck said, "Good! Got any grapes?"

  1. Al, you do such a great job on your blog, I really enjoy reading it every day. I wanted to comment yesterday (but didn't) on your beautiful shots of the fall foliage, and, as always, the countryside & harbor tours. Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for your tall tales and daily doing, and the Groaners (they always make my day.) Linda
