ANOTHER WRETCHEDLY HOT AND HUMID DAY:((

SCRATCHING A MORNING ITCH ON THE FARM'S OLD SCRATCHING POST
Aside from taking Scooter for a 20-minute maintenance drive this morning, it was another do nothing wretchedly hot and humid day.  And we have a heat advisory for Saturday and Sunday too.  I think it's about time we pack up and move to Wawa.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Prison vs Work::

IN PRISON...you spend the majority of your time in an 8x10 cell.  AT WORK...you spend most of your time in a 6x8 cubicle.

IN PRISON...you get three meals a day.
AT WORK...you only get a break for one meal and you have to pay for it.

IN PRISON...you get time off for good behavior.
AT WORK...you get rewarded for good behavior with more work.

IN PRISON...a guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you.
AT WORK...you must carry around a security card and unlock and open all the doors yourself.

IN PRISON...you can watch TV and play games.
AT WORK...you get fired for watching TV and playing games.

IN PRISON...you get your own toilet.
AT WORK...you have to share.

IN PRISON...they allow your family and friends to visit.
AT WORK...you cannot even speak to your family and friends.

IN PRISON...all expenses are paid by taxpayers with no work required.
AT WORK...you get to pay all the expenses to go to work and then they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners.

IN PRISON...you spend most of your life looking through bars from the inside wanting to get out.
AT WORK...you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars.

IN PRISON...there are wardens who are often sadistic.
AT WORK...they are called managers.

    1. I accidentally deleted my whole side bar earlier this evening. We are going to try a 'system restore' Saturday and if that doesn't work I will have to start all over from scratch rebuilding my blogger's list.

  3. Well, heat is good for drying hay and you have some handsome hay there. I noticed the other day that the tomatoes I bought at the grocery were "Product of Canada." Go figure. Canadian tomatoes in Texas. On the other hand, our summer has been unusually hot, and tomatoes don't like to set fruit when it's above 100 every single dang day. Had to look up Wawa. But if it's cooler there, and you can, then go!!

  5. Hi Al, I clicked on your link to Wawa. Looked like a perfect getaway for you guys. About 6 hours away & Scooter might enjoy the Tobermory ferry ride.! Check out "hipcamp.com" for some unique campsites. They seemed isolated & very small (like 1 to 4 sites) - I saw plenty of availability too. I know you prefer to boondock - but, I'm guessing you could find that too. Lots to see up there - like Magpie Falls.? Anyway - I learned more about Canada - like always when I read your blog. Maybe ya'll could slip away for a few days.? Just an idea from Ohio.

  7. Good luck with the heat. We are finally out of 124F days. Just 82F today. Hang in there and be grateful that you have A/C. Sadly many don't.
