A storm front rolled through the region south of us Sunday night leaving our area on the edge of it with only a light rainfall. Not enough to green up people's brown lawns and certainly not enough for farmer's crops. I did notice on our way to our morning walking spot that the wheat harvest is in full swing with all the wheat fields I saw, already harvested. A slight drizzle in the air but hardly enough to get Pheebs and I wet on our walk. ANOTHER NICE SUMMER'S MORN IN THE COUNTRYSIDE
THIS WHEATFIELD MUST HAVE BEEN HARVESTED IN THE LAST FEW DAYS

LUCAN'S TIM HORTON COFFEE STOP HEADING HOME WELL, THIS LOOKS LIKE OUR PLACE ALRIGHT STEPPING OUT OF THE JEEP I COULD HEAR A ROBIN CHIRPING IN THE LEAFY CANOPY OVER OUR DRIVEWAY
Upon awakening this morning I could tell first thing that I was feeling a bit better. No headache was a welcome change and my body felt less achy all over. Now, if I could get my energy levels up a notch or two maybe I could get a few things done around here. AH YES, THERE HE IS MUNCHING ON A MULBERRY
GROANER'S CORNER:(( Speaking at a city-wide PTA luncheon, an interim school superintendent assured members that he was always happy to hear from them about problems. He told them, "You can call me day or night, at this number . . ."Suddenly, there was a holler from the assistant superintendent. "Hey," he exclaimed, "that's MY number!"

A guy calls the hospital and a nurse answers the phone. The guy said, "Send in help because my wife is going into labor."
The nurse said, "Is this her first child?"
The guy replied, "No, this is her husband."

Thanks for the lovely photos! Hope Kelly was pleased with an actual face to face with her doc. Your place looks beautiful. I'm assuming the farmers were pleased with no rain if they've been trying to make hay......Hope you keep feeling better and better.
ReplyDeleteLove the round section on end of red barn. That is obviously the living quarters - with the deck, outdoor furniture, & pretty glass doors/windows. What a beautiful view with horses & farmland. I can just imagine sitting out there with a cup of coffee. Glad Kelly got to see her doctor & Thanks for your beautiful photography.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Kelly would like to come along on one of your nice country drives and just enjoy the scenery with a pitstop at McD for an outing.
ReplyDeleteGlad Kelly got her face-to-face, that really helps the confidence. No wheat harvesting up here, but lots of hay bales out in the fields. Love your close-up pictures today!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all that you write and for your utterly beautiful photos. A few notes: The first one of the red barn and horses...so crisp, colorful, and lovely! The first one of the cows is like a beautiful painting with all those soft, dusky, dusty gray greens, wish I could paint this. The first one of the thistle looks like a botanical firework or botanical bottle of bubbly....looks like it is exploding out color....gorgeous. And my beloved mother says, "Keep up the good work," and sends a thumbs up. : -)
