HANGING OUT WITH MY PALS:)) |
Not enough energy for a walk this morning but Pheebs and I did get in a short drive around a few country blocks. She's not always too keen for a walk anymore and shorter Jeep rides seem increasingly favorable to her. It has become sadly obvious to me that both Pheebs and I are slowly aging together.

A RIPENING CORNFIELD UNDER MID-SUMMER'S SUN AND CLOUD |
It was cool enough to be outside doing some yard work but I spent a chunk of my time inside trying to recharge my batteries. That of course required a few sessions of reading and snoozing. I must have left something switched on in my head all night again and that wore down my internal batteries and left me drained this morning. It's about as close to a logical explanation as I can come up with. However, I did manage to rally this afternoon long enough to spend some fun (hey, there's a word I don't use much) time in our front yard hanging around with a few good buddies of mine.

I RESCUED THIS LITTLE FELLOW FROM THE GROUND ON THE MAIN STREET OF JULIAN CALIFORNIA ONE DAY HALF A DOZEN YEARS AGO |
In Friday's post, I had a photo of a Wizard which I took beside our frog pond. Carin in the Shoutbox wondered if we owned that figurine and how tall it was. Made at Windstone Editions in North Hollywood California, I can't remember where or when we got it but Kelly tells me I had it when she met me 29 years ago. It's quite heavy, seven inches tall, and I may add, very well made. |

So, what have I been listening to on my Sirius XM satellite radio these days while Pheebs and I cruise the country roads? At the moment I'm mainly waffling back and forth between the '40's Junction' station and 'Sinatra'. The Junction is mainly all music from the 1940s. The Big Band music reminds me of my very early childhood and I like that. Like the Sinatra channel with its tunes from the 40s and 50s, I find the music comforting. However, I really wish Sirius would have a groovy selection of funky ambient music channels but they don't. Just some creatively inventive heavy bass-oriented instrumentals please.....and no words!!
GROANER'S CORNER:(( "I suppose you carry a memento of some sort in that locket of yours?" Woman: "Yes, it's a lock of my husband's hair." Friend: "But your husband is still alive." Woman: "I know, but his hair is gone."Q: Why did the queen bee kick out all of the other bees?
A: Because they kept droning on and on!
Q: What do you call a bee born in May?
A: A maybe!
Q: What kind of bee can't be understood?
A: A mumble bee!-------------------------------
What's the best way to jog your memory? Take your laptop out for a morning run.

You might check the XM app. There are hundreds and hundreds more channels online. Or try Stingray online.

ReplyDeleteAl, you do make me smile - Thank you
ReplyDeleteDelightful photos tonight and once again Miss Pheebs was the star of the show!!!
ReplyDeleteFun is definitely the right word, playing outdoors with all your pals! I think I might remember the monkey find in Julian on one of your visits to Borrego Springs. Reminds me of your large white tiger on the porch at the Congress house :-)
ReplyDeleteI had no idea you kept such a menagerie at your house, but they are cute!
