IF SATURDAY WAS A BUST THEN TODAY WAS A BOOM

With 10 bags of dirt loaded up from Goderich's Canadian Tire outdoor garden center Pheebs and I headed home after a coffee to go at McDonalds and a drive down around the harbor earlier.

THE GREENWING MAJURO WAS TIED UP AT THE GODERICH GRAIN ELEVATOR DOCK
I'M CURIOUS TO KNOW WHY THOSE 3 METAL DOORS ARE ALL SO CLOSE TOGETHER AND WHAT'S BEHIND THEM
SUNDAY MORNING FAMILY STROLL ON THE BOARDWALK
YES, IT IS DEFINITELY FEELING LIKE SPRING
HEADING HOME ON A NICE SUNNY SUNDAY MORNING
I don't know how many attempts I have made over the years at trying to grow some decent grass in our front yard and that includes sodding it one year.  We just have too many trees casting too much shade.  However, it's Spring and Spring is for doing things outside so I hauled out my trusty swede saw, hand clippers, and pruners and went to work clearing more overhead branches.  I cut down several Sumac trees as well.  With that done and the branches hauled off to the dump, I spread out the 10 bags of dirt, raked it all nice and even, then rolled it flat with my big push roller.  Tomorrow I will put the grass seed in and once again see if we can grow some grass.

AND THERE LIE MY 10 BAGS OF DIRT
PUT SOME GARDENING TOOLS IN MY HAND AND I AM A HAPPY GARDNER
TRIMMING MORE BRANCHES TO ALLOW ADDITIONAL SUNLIGHT IN
AND YEP, THERE'S OLD SAD SACKS HIMSELF
Another afternoon walk for Pheebs and I this afternoon but with my legs bothering me again it wasn't too far we went.  Both Pheebs and I walk a little slower these days.  Us two bums are just getting older I guess.  Some things don't come quite as easy as they once did.

WITH THE PARK SALE TEETERING ON THE BRINK I HOPE IT IS SUCCESSFUL AND THIS YELLOW MONSTER WILL BE STOPPED FROM MINDLESSLY DESTROYING ANY MORE OF THE FOREST HERE

It is so nice sitting here at the computer in our sunroom watching all the birds coming and going from the feeders and especially so now that the evenings are becoming longer.  The Cardinals like coming in at dusk and are the last visitors for the day.  And tonight sitting here I was happy to see that the Rose-breasted Grosbeaks have returned for another year:))

  1. What a great photo of yourself. You look so young and energetic. Good luck with the grass seed.

  2. So, I think those close-together doors on the ship are the location for welding equipment. Acetylene + Oxygen + Locker = Welding. Ya think? Meanwhile, I suppose you haven't mentioned your leg pain to a doc have you. I thought not.
As usual, fine photos and narrative. Thanks.

  3. If you ever want to house-switch for a few weeks to Florida, please just let me know, lol. It looks utterly charming there. Nothing so springy as yardwork. The yard's looking great.
