A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE BAYFIELD BUNCH:))

AHHHH YES, THE WOUNDROUS MYSTERIES OF THE UNIVERSE

Spring is busting out all over the place.  The long and grueling Winter's ordeal is finally behind us now as our landscape rapidly turns into its many shades of Spring green.  Warm air, sunshine, blue skies, and songbirds warbling in the treetops.  Clouds of dust whirl out of rural fields where farmers are busily working the land.  Bees are buzzing, hummingbirds are humming, geese are honking, and ducks are quacking.  Ahhhhh yes, Spring:))))))

HEADING OUT OF OUR PARK THIS MORNING YOU CAN SEE HOW OUR TREES HAVE SUDDENLY LEAFED OUT
FARMERS WERE BUSY ON THE LAND TODAY
I ALWAYS ENJOY SEEING THE PATTERNS CREATED IN THE FIELDS AT THIS TIME OF YEAR WHEN PLANTING IS IN FULL SWING
GREEN IS DEFINITELY THE COLOR OF SPRING
I had stopped my morning yummy shakes about a month ago but decided this morning to re-start them again so it was off to the grocery store for a fresh load of veggies.  Thursday morning for breakfast I will once again be busy mixing up my milk, oats, vanilla whey powder, cinnamon, romaine lettuce, spinach, celery, apples, and banana shakes.
WHAT A LOVELY MORNING TO BE A COW
Just like the song title, 'What A Difference A Day Makes' I felt better today.  Pheebs and I were able to have ourselves a nice walk along the shores of Lake Huron at Goderich's Rotary Cove doggy walking area.  No pain in my legs.  I don't know what caused my aching body muscles Wednesday but whatever it was it backed off today.  I still seem to be tiring out too soon though.  Geeezzzz, it's not like I am a hundred or something.

A NICE MORNING WALK ALONG THE SHORES OF LAKE HURON
GODERICH HAS A LITTLE WAY TO GO YET WITH THEIR BANK STABILIZATION PROJECT
THIS IS A PART OF THE ERODED SHORELINE THAT HAS BEEN FORTIFIED WITH ROCKS AND BOULDERS
THIS IS WHERE GODERICH'S WASTEWATER HAS BEEN TREATED AND IS RECYCLED BACK INTO THE LAKE
IF THE BANK IS NOT FORTIFIED THIS IS THE KIND OF EROSION THAT HAPPENS
I THINK IT IS SAFT TO SAY THAT THIS IS A WASHED UP DINOSAUR LEG BONE
 CORMORANT

Our weather has been warm enough for me to be using my fans.  Today, the A/C words were spoken for the first time, and with 82F predicted for Thursday we just might be in for some cooler air in the house for sure.  Oh, by the way, it was Kelly who mentioned 'Air Conditioning' and not me.  Bet ya never saw that one coming eh.

GODERICH'S LAKE HURON SHORELINE HAS SOMETHING FOR YOUNG AND OLD ALIKE
No afternoon walk today, I slept through it.  I've been toying with the idea of country road evening walks again like Pheebs and I did late last summer and early Fall.

BACK AT OUR PARK
Here's 8-year-old Ellen doing the bass line for Black Sabbath's song Heaven and Hell.  I like the expression on her face when she flubs a few notes and then shortly after that she surprises herself by nailing a trickier part.  Watch her excited personality come alive at the end of the song.  Oh, and while we're at it, here she is doing the bass line from Rush's song Tom Sawyer.  Okay, Okay, one more, and this is the best one......here's Ellen and her Dad doing a duet.  She's maybe a year older than the first two videos and you can see how funky her playing has progressed.  Her Dad, Hovak, is an excellent teacher and guitarist in his own right.

IT LOOKS LIKE THE RHUBARB IS REALLY GROWING WELL HERE
 TAKING A SHORTCUT HOME
Although I didn't make it all the way through author Paul Wallis's book, Escaping From Eden I did find a lot of sensible answers to a lot of sensible questions.  I had to skip the first chapter because I couldn't understand it and I bailed out on the last few chapters when I found them way over my head.  But in between, I found the logic I was looking for and it basically confirmed so much of what I have already been reading by many other authors.  This book, as well as others, has tied up a lot of loose ends for me.  I've come a long way and done a lot of reading this past year in my search for my own simple questions.  How did we human beings come to be on this Planet??  Why are we here??  Who are we??   Ahhhh yes, the wondrous mysteries of the Universe:))

We have a little Chipmunk coming into the house and raiding the tall birdseed container in our kitchen.  Years ago, Checkers, our black and white border collie went through our rear patio screen door in pursuit of a raccoon, but we never bothered getting the screen fixed because it's so easy for Pheebs to go in and out without opening the screen door.  Well, this little smartypants Chipmunk this year has figured that out and it's not unusual to be watching TV now and see a little Chippy go zooming across the living room floor either coming to or going from our birdseed stash.  It doesn't bother me or Pheebs too much but Kelly's not too happy about the little fella that thinks it's the newest member of the Bayfield Bunch.

  1. I went over to see Ellen's video. How she's grown and how talented she has become. Had me checking out some of her other videos-she's really good for a youngster! Takes after you, huh?

  2. It's raining in Montana this morning, no leaves on the trees, no flowers--looks like winter. I envy you your leaves! But we are welcoming the rain! Those Ella videos are amazing!! What a talented little girl! Thanks for inserting those links--the videos brought a smile to my face this morning!

  3. The green is really lovely! Fun to see everyone getting out to enjoy the sunshine. Glad you're feeling better so you can do the same! Definitely lucky cattle, they look healthy too. I suppose chipmunks could carry in things we don't want in our house, but I bet they're so dang cute!!
