Having missed our Monday morning walk we made up for it Monday evening. Headed off to our usual spot but couldn't park where we usually do at a flat spot on the shoulder of the road where the farmer has access for his farm machinery to his field. The farmer was already there with his tractor and cutter cutting his clover field. Pheebs and I parked a little further up the country road. Another very fine evening for a walk but quite a contrast to the stormy night before.
YOU CAN SEE A TIRE TRACK IN THE GRASS AHEAD WHERE WE USUALLY PARK BUT THE FARMER WAS THERE CUTTING HIS CLOVER FIELD
WE HAD TO MOVE UP THE ROAD A WEE BIT TO THE CORNER OF A CORNFIELD |
EVENING SKIES WERE SURE CLEARER THAN THEY WERE 24 HOURS PREVIOUSLY AT THE SAME EXACT TIME |
BY THE TIME WE FINISHED OUR WALK THE SUN WAS NEARLY DOWN |
AS WE ROLLED UP TO OUR PARKING SPOT TUESDAY MORNING I COULD SEE THE FARMER HAD FINISHED CUTTING HIS CLOVER FIELD

GROANER'S CORNER:(( At the height of a political corruption trial, the prosecuting attorney asked a witness. "Isn't it true," he said loudly, "that you accepted five thousand dollars to compromise this case?" The witness stared out the window, as though he hadn't heard the question. "Isn't it true that you accepted five thousand dollars to compromise this case?" the lawyer loudly repeated. The witness still did not respond. Finally, the judge leaned over and said, "Sir, please answer the question." "Oh," the startled witness said, "I thought he was talking to you."

I’d like to order a pepperoni pizza, the man said. “Shall I ask them to cut it into six or twelve slices, the pizza shop owner asks.
“Six, please. I could never eat twelve pieces.

A small boy came running out of the bathroom in tears.
"What's the matter?" asked his father.
"I dropped my toothbrush in the toilet."
"Okay, don't worry, but we'd better throw it out."
So the father fished the toothbrush out of the toilet and put it in the garbage. When he returned, the boy was holding another toothbrush.
"Isn't that my toothbrush?" the father said.
"Yes," said the boy, "and we'd better throw this one out too, because it fell in the toilet four days ago."

That must be a nice place to go for a quiet country walk. Great sunset pictures too. I'm glad the cooler weather has arrived for you. I used to feel the same but now that my thermometer has gone all wonky I will miss the heat.
