KELLY MADE IT TO SPENCERPORT NEW YORK TODAY

 LOOKING SOUTH ALONG BAYFIELD'S BEACH
A perfect driving morning for Kelly with an overcast sky, no wind, and dry roads.  Plus it was a quiet Sunday morning too.  With her car loaded up, she rolled out the driveway at 8:30 this morning.  I couldn't help but feel sad knowing the purpose of her long drive to Spencerport New York.

 SAYING GOODBYE TO  PHEEBS

Minutes after Kelly left Pheebs and I were on the road as well heading for our country road walking place.  I was a little disappointed to see a mower had come along and cut down most of the pretty ditch flowers alongside the road.  A few drops of rain in the humid and slightly hazy cloud-covered sky.  It was kind of a solemn walk followed by a half-hearted drive around a couple country blocks before returning home.

DISAPPOINTED TO SEE OUR ROADSIDE FLOWERS MOWED DOWN
A SUNDAY MORNING FARMER'S WORK IS NEVER DONE
I THINK THIS OLD GMC TRUCK HAS SEEN BETTER DAYS,
I DON'T THINK THIS OLDER TRUCK WILL BE GOING TOO MUCH FARTHER EITHER

I can't really say much for the rest of the day.  Rains came sometime after lunch so I spent most of my time sitting quietly in our sunroom reading with a few occasional short spurts of on again and off again television.  For supper, I had a bowl of cereal.

SAW THIS BALTIMORE ORIOLE ON OUR BIRDBATH THIS MORNING

Despite the mega heavy traffic in the Hamilton/St Catherines Ontario area, Kelly said her trip to Spencerport today went okay.  At the border the border guard asked,"what are you bringing in?" I said cottage cheese & yogurt.  He said "bleh" have a nice time".  She arrived at her mother's house at 1:50 p.m.  Along the way while still in Canada, Kelly stopped at a roadside flower stand and picked up some gladiolas for her Mom.

GROANER'S CORNER:((   A country preacher decided to skip services one Sunday to spend the day hiking in the wilderness. Rounding a sharp bend in the trail, he collided with a bear and was sent tumbling down a steep grade. He landed on a rock and broke both legs.  With the ferocious bear charging at him from a distance, the preacher prayed, "O Lord, I'm so sorry for skipping services today. Please forgive me and grant me just one wish--make a Christian out of that bear that's coming at me!"  At that very instant, the bear skidded to a halt, fell to his knees, clasped his paws together, and began to pray aloud at the preacher's feet: "Dear God, please bless this food I am about to receive."

  1. Those Glads are beautiful. It bums me out too when they cut the roadside wildflowers.

  3. Spencerport is very close to where I grew up in Hilton and Scottsville, NY.

  4. Very glad she had no trouble crossing the border. I didn't realize it was open. I guess the Canadian onslaught in Florida will be back at its fever pitch this winter.
