A 145 MILE ROUND TRIP TO LOOK AT ANOTHER AGING DINOSAUR....WILL WE EVER LEARN!!

WHY IS IT THE GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FENCE
A disappointing start to our weather day but we did enjoy our one nice day of Spring Sunday.  This morning we we're back down into the thirties again with cloud cover and wind.  Needing a few things Pheebs and rolled up to Goderich.  A usual spin down around the harbor and that was about it.  I'll be glad when they have Lake Huron's beaches and Rotary Cove open again someday.  We were back home shortly after ten.

Dressed in my cold weather duds I busied myself outside utilizing my shovel, rake, and wheelbarrow.  Dug up and re-planted some bamboo grass.  Skies began clearing by early afternoon and we were soon under blue skies and sunshine:))  But still on the cold side:((

Kelly had spotted another older Class C RV for sale in a place called Belmont Ontario southeast of London so for no other good reason than to get ourselves out of the house on a nice sunny afternoon we all three piled into the Jeep about 4 this afternoon and headed for Belmont.  Nice to be out traveling through countryside we had never seen before and with the Covid thing going on traffic was thankfully lite.  Took the slightly longer but scenic route through Prospect Hill, Plover Mills, and Nilestown.  The Class C was not up to our liking and we were soon on our way home again with a stop at McDonalds in London.  It was 7:30 p.m. and 145 miles later when we tiredly rolled back into our driveway.  We both agreed, we have to stop being so cheap and 'no more looking at cheap hundred year old Dinosaur Motorhomes'.
A nice drive home and with my interest in photography I really enjoyed seeing early evening's twilight.  I normally am not out and about at that time of day anymore and with the Sun in the West instead of the East the day takes on a whole different but most pleasing look.

Normally by now my good buddy Richard and I would have had 2 or 3 country road coffee tours under our belts already but again with this Covid thing going on it has messed up our routine.  However, we've agreed to meet in the morning at his place where we will sit outside in the sunshine and sip our coffees through measured 6' straws.
NOT OFTEN WE GET TO SEE THE SETTING SUN ANYMORE
GROANER'S CORNER:((  A pious man who had reached the age of 105 suddenly stopped going to synagogue. Alarmed by the old fellow's absence after so many years of faithful attendance the Rabbi went to see him. He found him in excellent health, so the Rabbi asked, "How come after all these years we don't see you at services anymore?"The old man looked around and lowered his voice. "I'll tell you, Rabbi," he whispered. "When I got to be 90, I expected God to take me any day. But then I got to be 95, then 100, then 105. So I figured that God is very busy and must've forgotten about me, and I don't want to remind Him I am still here!"

I was struggling to get my wife’s attention?  So I simply sat down and looked comfortable. That did the trick.

  1. We had to drive to Cornwall area to pick up a new to us car today. Eight hours of driving round trip for us two old codgers. We saw much the same activities in the fields on our travels.

  2. You might look at a site here in Texas with 3 locations. It shows all their inventory with tons of pictures of each rig and a drawn out floorplan. It might help figure out what rig you are looking for and maybe you could look for that rig in Canada. Look for PPL motorhomes I think you will find it is a great resource.

  3. PPL in Texas is one of the best places to find an RV...

  4. That Lunar Lander is a no till planter. The arms sticking up are called row markers and give the driver a groove to follow. No green up here yet, snow is gone though.

  5. We decided the same thing Al and Kelly--no more going to look at ancient rigs! We will look at something in the year 2000 range but it has to be a high end rig that might have been well cared for.

  6. A nice round trip drive no matter the result is especially nice these days! Love all the working farms and interesting equipment. The lambs are precious.
