With the current problems going on with Google, Live Writer, & Blogger I've decided to just take a blog break & wait to see if & when they resolve their issues. I've tried adding photos to Blogger but it just doesn't work. Could be a Win 10 glitch I don't know. Also tried the new 'Open Live Writer' & that returned error messages as well. Anyway I don't feel like fighting with it so a blog break it is..............................
Okay... I'm in the same boat. But... we'll be off to Mexico come Monday and a whole new world will be before our eyes come Tuesday (or Wednesday).... whatever... I'll deal with it all then. Call it what you may.. It's my way of flipping the whole thing off ;0)
I've never used Live Writer, so I don't understand the problem. Pretty glad of that at this point! I simply write my blog post using Blogger the same way that I have for eight years.
Me too Al, even tried the brand new open source Live Writer, but it cannot connect with username and password (yet same username and password works in browser). Can't find any info one problem yet either....grrrrrr
Hi Guys, My Live writer works as I use WordPress. Just the same I downloaded the open source one and installed it on my win10 machine with no problem. Well, I did have a little problem with the user name and password as I have a hard time knowing which ones they want. But once I gave them the right ones, it opened up nicely and it's hard to tell the difference from Live Writer. I haven't tried a publish yet, although it did a test one ok on it's own during setup. The main thing I wanted to convey was that the name and password they wanted was the one you use to sign in to your dashboard of your blog if that helps? Maybe a little help from Kelly Al? :O) Bob
ok, now I understand the problem as I was helping a friend that uses Blogger and can't log in either. I'm surprised they put this out in this condition, but they must be trying to get it fixed soon, so I think you are doing the right thing by taking a break. :O) Bob
Same boat Al. I just find Blogger to tedious and inflexible in terms of infinite variety of picture sizes and many other things. I have done the correct name and password to sign into my dashboard and it just doesn't work. I wonder if anyone out there even knows it is broken again? Seems a coincidence that it happened as they launched the open source.
Looks like Google shut off the old password authentication protocol (that Windows Live Writer used) before the new Open Live Writer team had finished coding to support the updated Google protocol. Looks like the fix is going to be awhile according to Google's link below, and will only come as an updated version of Open Live Writer (Microsoft's Windows Live Writer will not be updated).
Long term, it's great that Live Writer is now open-source and being actively developed and updated again. There's even a group of coders who are starting to work on a Mac port for the program (music to my ears!). But short term, we're SOL with no working solution to connect Live Writer to Blogger....it's either back to the crappy Blogger authoring tool, or to not blog at all....or, God forbid, to have to port our blogs to WordPress!
I sure am glad you made the choice to put up with the crappy blogger thing instead of leaving a hole in my life! And lots of other people's too. Sigh of relief. Thanks, Al.
Well darn Al, hate to see that happen. I just uploaded a bunch of photos on blogger. See my post on Sleepy Hollow Cemetery at the2balls.blogspot.com. Hope it works out = hate to miss your posts.

Live Writer doesn't work on WIN 8.1 either. Get message "Blog not Found".
