ANYWAY, THOUGHT THE 2 ARTICLES WERE VERY INTERESTING……….

Again, so nice to wake up with no achy breaky feelings in my legs. How great when all the body parts come together in working fashion & decide not to be a pain in the parts for a day. Need to work on strengthening my leg muscles now & for that I am going to try using my bicycle.

Did about half our morning trail & the rest of my morning was spent spent puttering about with some light yard work. Kelly & I both cleaned our bicycles as well. They were pretty dusty from not being used these past few years. Took them with us to the South West a couple times on the back of our previous Damon Motorhome. I did like riding my bike in the desert at Why Arizona's Hickiwan Trails RV Park but overall we just didn’t use them enough to justify hauling them all the way down there & back every time we went. Didn't take long for today's heat & humidity to build so spent the remainder of my day inside.  Pheebs did manage to get out with Kelly for a ride when they picked up some farm fresh eggs at the Mennonite store just south of Bayfield. Kelly said she even got to meet the chickens.

HAD I KNOWN THIS MALE CARDINAL WAS DROPPING IN FOR A BATH TODAY I WOULD HAVE HAD THE WATER TOPPED UP

I obviously mis-read the on-line Farmer's Almanac about our full Moonrise time in this area Tuesday night. Pheebs & I were just about ready to head out when I happened to glance out our living room window & saw the Moon already up in the Pine trees. Had missed it by about an hour. Oh well, maybe next month.

A MAN & HIS HORSE OUT FOR A CART RIDE AROUND THE TRACK TUESDAY MORNING

And sharp eyed Barney from OLD FAT MAN ADVENTURES found 7 frogs in Tuesday’s photo where I only saw one on the right. Just goes to show how good my eyes really are. No wonder I have trouble reading anything. I have posted the same photo below again for anyone wanting to challenge their eyes to a frog count.

David over in the Shout Box inquired which Insurance Company we use for our South-West travels.  We go through SANDERSON TRAVEL who use TRAVEL UNDERWRITERS.

AHHHHH, THAT FEELS SOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD:))

Now here’s an article I & other folks like myself will find very interesting.  23 SIGNS YOU ARE SECRETLY AN INTROVERT.  Well, it’s no secret on my blog what I am that’s for sure.  I identified strongly with all 23 signs, the exceptions being 6 & 7 which were in a gray area for me.  Believe me it’s not easy being an introvert in a mainly extroverted society.  It’s another one of those shaky closet topics but I did pull this off the internet which I think sums things up amazingly well…………………. ‘Contrary to what most people think, an introvert is not simply a person who is shy. In fact, being shy has little to do with being an introvert! Shyness has an element of apprehension, nervousness and anxiety, and while an introvert may also be shy, introversion itself is not shyness. Basically, an introvert is a person who is energized by being alone and whose energy is drained by being around other people.
Introverts are more concerned with the inner world of the mind. They enjoy thinking, exploring their thoughts and feelings. They often avoid social situations because being around people drains their energy. This is true even if they have good social skills. After being with people for any length of time, such as at a party, they need time alone to "recharge."
When introverts want to be alone, it is not, by itself, a sign of depression. It means that they either need to regain their energy from being around people or that they simply want the time to be with their own thoughts. Being with people, even people they like and are comfortable with, can prevent them from their desire to be quietly introspective.
Being introspective, though, does not mean that an introvert never has conversations. However, those conversations are generally about ideas and concepts, not about what they consider the trivial matters of social small talk’.

When I turned the water pump on in the rig this afternoon there was a very strong sulphur smell to the water coming out of the tap which was drawing water from our fresh water tank.  Haven’t encountered that before.  I have a feeling it has something to do with the hot water heater but don’t know what.  I did not have the hot water tank turned on at the time & we do not have sulphur laden water here.

  1. Now Al, My oil changes are not quite that complicated. I have been known to take two days, but I never dump the oil in any way that might damage wildlife. Other that that, it was pretty accurate. Still raining here in Anchorage. Soggy Soggy

  2. About the frog photo: LOL It's like finding Waldo. The obvious one on the lily pad to the right, is there a "partial" one next to him or just a splotch on the pad? If it is a partial frog, then I see eight. And there might be a ninth. It looks like a little froggy head popping up behind the left sprig of weeds growing from the little log. Or I might be seeing things! LOL

  3. Al, we too have had the sulphur smell this year. It appears to have something to do with the RV antifreeze as only the units that were winterized had it. Another of our friends found the same thing. The only cure was a complete flush of the system, 3 times. enjoy!

  4. Hey Al,
Just wanted to say thank you. Because I have been following your blof for seeral years, I am starting to "see" in a different way. I am takingtime to look.

  6. I did find the seven frogs too.
Nice to get the bikes all cleaned up and you can head on out on the trails.

  7. Al, the sulfur smell is likely related to iron bacteria thriving on the sacrificial anode in your hot water heater. This is pretty common where water is left "standing" in the hot water heater for long periods of time. You can remove the anode (and discard and not replace) and flush the tank with some diluted chlorine bleach and the smell should go away. Good luck! Bob

  8. Ha. I just read that list, and with the exception of being married to an Extrovert, it's me. My wife has an accounting background, she ain't no Extrovert, unless I'm a bit foggy on that definition.
I always had some suspicions, but it had never been quantified. Interesting.

  9. That's funny you cleaned up your bikes..Dennis put a new tire and chain on his and lubed it up, then he did mine...like we might actually GO somewhere ...NOT! We do take ours on the bikerack Dennis fixed up for the Hiker. And we use them lots when we are camping...

  10. I identify as an introvert who is married to an extrovert who sometimes has a hard time understanding my desire to not socialize. I am glad that more information is coming out on this topic so people understand there is nothing wrong with wanting to be alone!

  11. Joe sums it up by saying..."I love people, I just don't like big crowds."

We both often avoided the large work related parties ...they do zap our energy.

I'm with Merikay...I owe you a huge thank you too. I see the little things more and more these days!

  12. I return this morning after reading this post last night. After some overnight contemplation, I now can label myself an introvert. I would never have done so in the past. I guess I can say I am an introvert with a Splash of extrovert thrown in.

I have been happily married to a true introvert for 38 years. Lisa, I often have a hard time understanding his behavior often labeling it as shyness. But, now and thanks to the 23 labeling markers, I have a better appreciation.

    Great discussion post!

  13. I've always known I'm an introvert but I'm not shy. Many of the 21 items in the article apply to me spot on, whereas others are in the grey area.

I can still only see one frog!

  14. My eyes must be old too...I could only count four frogs - even after enlarging the picture! Can sure identify with that introvert thing.

  15. I second the anode fix for sulfur smell. We also have it with our RV water heater. Only difference is we pour peroxide in our water filter. suck it up into the water heater, leave it sit for the night and flush it out. We didn't replace the anode.
