A SUCCESSFUL MISSION TO TOWN FOR ME & THE PHEEBS

DSC_0030

SUN UMBRELLAS AWAIT THE ARRIVAL OF GUESTS TODAY AT BAYFIELD’S DEER PARK LODGE

Weather is shaping up mighty fine for our long week-end.  A touch cool by beach standards but great for anyone working outside in their garden.  Not quite enough heat in the air to bring out all the flying insects & buggy-boos but warm enough to be in short sleeves.  Very low humidity, & that’s the best:))

SURE DO HAVE SOME NICE CLEAR WATER FOR SWIMMERS ALONG THE SHORES OF LAKE HURON

Pheebs & I flew another successful Jeep mission into & out of Goderich this morning without being shot down by another greasy McDonald’s breakfast.  We got in, got our errands done & got out of town before anyone knew we were even there.  Stopped at DEER PARK LODGE on the way back because I had a few cottage interiors to photograph.  I’ll include a few of those in tonight’s blog plus Pheebs & I hit the beach for a few additional photos.

WEEK-END GUESTS WILL SOON BE ARRIVING

Kelly brought a blog to my attention this morning that she knew I would definitely be interested in.  And, I was.   This fellow’s COCOONED post certainly did catch my attention.  It is not often I read a post by someone who so closely mirrors my own thoughts about our particular style of RVing.  I put this couple’s blog on our sidebar because I like their way of RV thinking.  You can find them at BOX CANYON BLOG.COM.

CAMPFIRES ON THE BEACH ARE ALWAYS A BIG HIT AT DEER PARK

Neither Kelly or I have ever been big on anniversary or birthday stuff so it’s not something I usually mention in my posts.  But, I will make an exception because today we have been married 10 years.  No big number to fluff ourselves up about, but considering our very independently different pasts, it is a wonder our paths ever crossed in the first place. But, once those paths did finally cross, it was clear right from the beginning we were two people destined to be together.  Our thoughts were alike, our thinking the same.  We had both individually embarked on similar paths at different times, searching for the same ‘out of the box’ answers.   Didn’t take long after sharing our ideas, ideals, & dreams, that we knew we were in harmony with each other.  Kelly has been the one with patience, understanding, fortitude, courage & strength.  And, I have been the one with peanut butter sandwiches……………  Oh, & where did we meet?  A coffee shop of course:))

I am getting an increased number of ‘Anonymous’ spam in my comments section & am wondering if other Bloggers are being plagued by this as well.  My filters are not blocking some of this latest stuff & the spam ends up appearing as a comment.  I have to keep checking my Blogger Dashboard in order to delete this garbage.  I certainly do not want to go back to those ridiculous Google anti-spam letters people are forced to figure out before leaving a comment.  Wondered if anybody had any ideas about this………………..

DEER PARK HAS ONE OF THE LARGEST & BEST PRIVATE SANDY BEACHES ALONG THE LAKE

GROANER’S CORNER:((  Did you know a Man who runs in front of a car gets tired, while a man who runs behind a car gets exhausted.  And did you know the old Egyptian archaeologist was upset because his job was in ruins.  By the way, what do you call a Ghost with a broken leg??  A Hoblin Goblin of course.  And, I bet you didn’t know why the Indians were here first……they had reservations:))

  3. The cabins looks simply lovely!! Yea, gotta enjoy that low humidity weather while you can!!

Happy Anniversary!! That is everything to get excited about. I imagine you were not long in making up your mind about loving her and wanting to always be with her. We are nearing our 40th. Tho' we very nearly did not make it. Just by the grace of GOD!! But now, in our old age, still glad to be together and living peacefully. Everyone's path is a bit different. My sister-in-law told me she so wished she had met my brother in high school. She had 3 other sleezy husbands and then found my brother. They were not even living in the same town until they met. Nothing you can do about such things. Just make the best life you can when finally things work out.

  5. Anniversaries are important whether it is the first or the ninety-first they are all special when they are shared with the one you love.

As far as the spam you could always set the comments to be moderated before they are published but it is probably easier the way you have it now.

Happy Anniversary to Kelly and you Al and may there be many more. Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  6. For a while I was getting several spams a week, but it's tapered off now, probably because I'm not posting much. I'd rather quit blogging than go back to those stupid word puzzles for verification.

The cabins at Deer Park Lodge look really nice as well as comfortable.

Congratulations on your anniversary, and I wish you many more.

Al, just don't allow anonymous comments. That's how mine is set and I get maybe 1 or 2 slip through in a month.

  13. This new spam doesn't look like the usual garbage that blogger kills...... It kind of looks like a legitimate comment..... So blogger lets it thru..... But you can bet that the folks at google are working on the way to nab it.... So be patient my friend and let the folks do their work and before long it will be gone, Poof!

  14. Even if a SPAM comment gets through, most of us will recognize it as such and just ignore it until you can delete it.

Wishing you and Kelly a very Happy Anniversary.

  15. Hats off to making it 10 years.

The cabins are cute and look comfy.

I'm not sure where Box Canyon is going with this idea.

WordPress catches most of the spam, but I've seen a lot of it. Not a fan of the word verification either. I like the WP plugin used on my site.

  21. Happy anniversary to you both--you are such a good match!

Since Mike and I installed Malwarebytes (Rick's suggestion)on our computer our spam has become almost non-existent. None on the blog, none in our email boxes. Don't know if this software is the reason but I'm gonna think it is!

  23. I agree with Donna K. I think we all recognize spam comments, and that you'll get rid of them when you can. Mine seem to come in mini-waves, and then back off for a while.

    Happy Anniversary!

I have to use annonymous because the stupid BLOGGER doesn't let me use my name.. I HATE THOSE THINGS!! On some blogs I can just use my name, but on others(like yours) I have to use ANN.
