Just a wee dusting of snow greeted us at first light this morning. Hardly enough to cover the ground but just enough to make me want to go back to bed & pull the covers over my head. Temps in the cloudy & damp mid 30’s. Not exactly one of those fine mornings that makes a fella want to rush outside & get the gardening tools going again. 
I THINK MR. ROBIN IS IN FOR A MEAL OF COLD WORMS!!
BIRD FEEDER RAIDER & A MALE COWBIRD
Did manage to slip out & do a bit of raking between snow showers but finally just packed it in & retreated back inside where it was warm. Not a good day for bird photos but I took a few anyway. Maybe tomorrow will bring some motivation & creative thoughts………………
ARRIVAL OF THE CAPED CRUSADER.......(A PAIR OF COWBIRDS)
GROANER’S CORNER:(( A farmer purchased an old, run-down, abandoned farm with plans to turn it into a thriving enterprise. The fields were grown over with weeds, the farmhouse was falling apart, and the fences were broken down. During his first day of work, the town preacher stops by to bless the man's work, saying, "May you and God work together to make this the farm of your dreams!" A few months later, the preacher stops by again to call on the farmer. Lo and behold, it's a completely different place. The farm house is completely rebuilt and in excellent condition, there is plenty of cattle and other livestock happily munching on feed in well-fenced pens, and the fields are filled with crops planted in neat rows. "Amazing!" the preacher says. "Look what God and you have accomplished together!" "Yes, reverend," says the farmer, "but remember what the farm was like when God was working it alone!"

I like that picture of the pair of cowbirds. While not my favorite bird, their breeding adaptations are amazing. :) Brrr..too cold for me!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the picture of all the birdfeeders I wondered if the squirrels visit and make a nuisance of themselves. I guess another picture shows they do.

ReplyDeleteAh,,it was a beautiful nice warm sunshiney day down here in AZ. Sure not time for me to go up in that messy white stuff yet. I'm not done soaking in some of this nice sunshine! Cacti is all begining to blossom, Easter cacti's all over the place are popping out with big beautiful flowers,,,,really amazing how this desert comes to life. The desert floor looks like a carpet of green.

We kind of liked your first picture with the misty mystery look! You take 'em, you show' em, and you show us all that we shouldn't have to travel great distances to get great pictures. They are all around us, all we have to do is look -- and have the camera ready!
