A TIRING DAY IN SIERRA VISTA

DSC_0014-1

We are sooooooo close to going over our new 10Gig Verizon limit tonight at midnight that I am only including one photo in the blog.  After 12 we begin anew for another month.  I didn’t think using two laptops would have jumped our Gigabytes this much…..but it sure has!!  We may have to consider Millenicom’s 20Gig plan after all.

Had hoped to have my Bisbee photo album online for tonight’s blog but there are still a few pics I am looking for.  If I can find them in the morning I will post the Bisbee album link Monday night.

Thanks to RICK for his helpful tip on the problem I was having with the double watermark on all my photos.  Followed what he suggested to do & it worked.  Thanks Buddy:))

A big welcome to acwhite for signing on as our latest blog Supporter.   Muchas Gracias my friend:))

It was late afternoon before we arrived home from Sierra Vista today & boy was I bushed.  Hiking mountain trails is sure a heck of a lot easier than hiking through shopping aisles in the big box stores.  Kelly wanted to have a look in the Marshall store for some new T-Shirts for me.

I embarrassed myself last Sunday when we walked into the Visitor’s Center at Ramsey Canyon.  The nice lady at the door was trying her best to have a conversation with me but I noticed her eyes kept glancing down at my chest.  Figured I must have left some breakfast on my T-shirt but no, it was the huge ragged hole right in the middle of my T-shirt that had caught her attention.  I’m sure she thought I was a homeless person wanting to use the bathroom or something.  I knew right then & there the jig was up & I was just going to have to finally part with all my favorite old, but ripped & torn, Eisenhower era T-shirts.

I spent half an hour in Sierra Vista’s Marshal store parking lot while Kelly went in looking for sales.  I am now the proud owner of 5 brand spanking new T-shirts.  Oh dear, what is to become of me & my ragged ways!!

From Marshals it was over to Best Buy where I got dragged around a bit up & down a few aisles.   But, that wasn’t so bad because they got guy’s stuff in there too & lots of confusing wizmo gizmo gadgets of which most is so miniaturized I can hardly even see the darn stuff.  Got myself so grumpy I worked me up an appetite in no time!! .

Walked ourselves over to a place called the Texas Roadhouse.  Never been to one before & I must say I really enjoyed my Crispy Country Chicken & mashed potatoes smothered in gravy with a side order of apple sauce.  Nice place but waaaaay too noisy for me.  Seems to come with the territory where large masses of humans gather I guess.  Background music was way too loud & I figure maybe people were yammering extra loud trying to talk over the loud music.  Anyway, food was good but I was sure glad to get my ears on out of there!!  Walked ourselves back to Best Buy for another grueling half hour.  And what did we finally end up buying in there?  Well, I’m not sure because I’m too darned scared to look in the bag!!

Last stop of the day was Fry’s grocery store & by that time I was just hanging off the shopping cart wishing I was anywhere but where I was but soon I was somewhere I wanted to be & the day just didn’t seem so bad after all.  Now how was that for a big darn long run-on sentence…10-4:))

GROANER’S CORNER:((  A man walks into a bar, sits down, and orders a drink.

The bartender gives him his drink, accompanied by a bowl of peanuts. To his surprise, a voice comes from the peanut bowl. "You look great tonight!" it said. "You really look fantastic... And that after shave is just wonderful!"

The man is obviously a little confused, but tries to ignore it. Realizing he has no cigarettes, he wanders over to the cigarette machine. After inserting his money, another voice emits from the machine. "You jerk. Oh my gosh you stink. Do you know, you're almost as ugly as your mother."

By now, the man is extremely perplexed. He turns to the bartender for an explanation. "Ah yes sir," the bartender responds, "The peanuts are complimentary, but the cigarette machine is out of order."

  1. Kelly! Who is this man and what have you done with Al? All these new duds, taking him on forays through Best Buy, grocery stores, Marshall's and more, could change him permanently!

  2. Hey, I feel your pain! I'm tired just from reading about your full day shopping ordeal - how dreadful!!

As one who gets criticized for my old t-shirt and sweatshirt wardrobe, I also share your pain at having to give up those wonderful old clothes!

  4. I have the same problem with my Verizon smartphone and the 5GB limit. Too much info, not enough plan. And I agree with your conclusion about Texas Roadhouse. Decent food, but even with my severe hearing loss, the place is too loud.

  6. We have the Millenicom 20gb and love it!! Didn't cost us a dime extra either. They just added it on to our 10gb plan at no charge..

We have spent a lot of time at Sierrra Vista. My oldest son was strationed there in the military. I like the little town.. But like you I'm no shopper and I spend most of my time just waitin in the car listening to a little CW music and just thinkin!!

    Enjoyed your Blog...

  7. Al, we felt the same way about the Texas Outhouse ... oh, I mean Roadhouse. The food was fine, but the din was overwhelming. But then, last week we ate at Little Italy, a small restaurant in Gila Bend, where the noise was overwhelming. One table held a family with at least six children, a few of whom were yelling, screaming, making a lot of noise. As a result, everyone else in the place had to talk louder. After the one family left, it took about five minutes for everyone else to get down to a normal volume. But -- if you ever go to GIla Bend, Little Italy is the place to eat!

  9. I am trying hard to hang on to our older Verizon contract that has unlimited internet access via the air card. I read recently that with the intro of the I phone, they are going to restrict usage even more and do away with the free every two upgrade on phones.

  10. I can't get away with leaving McGuyver in the truck while I shop..I wish I could...He watches me like a hawk...Plus, no way could I buy his clothes...Actually I'm pretty glad he does that on his own..He loves his WalMart Wranglers..and yes, he has about 5 T-shirts that look like someone put a load of buckshot into him....

  11. Every time you write about your bandwidth woes, I'm so glad I'm on the old unlimited plan. I didn't even realize I had it for the first six months, then I called with a question about my usage, andthee rep told me I was on the unlimited plan. It seems like I had gotten in on the unlimited by 13 days!

  12. Ohhh commiserating with you on the shopping... I hate it unless it's something we HAVE to have.

Can't understand those mall-browsers who spend all day in there, and some make a social event out of it.

    I'd rather be RVing!
