WE GOT PINK IN THE SINK

A FEW FARM LANES ALONG THE WAY
Removing the plug from the rig's water heater Thursday I noticed it was time to replace the anode rod.  The only RV place I could think of reasonably close to us was Camp Out RV east of Sebringville, Ontario.  Well, that meant one thing....'Road Trip:))  After our morning walk under cloudy skies, we headed straight away for Camp Out.  Nice easy drive on secondary roads taking a few photos along the way.  Some of the pictures might be a wee bit shaky due to taking them on the fly.  We were home again shortly after noon.

A FEW DUFFERS OUT ON THE LINKS AT THE BRIDGES OF SEAFORTH GOLF COURSE
Well, guess what!!  Yep, the anode rod was the wrong size.  Too big.  Guess where Road Trip #2 will be.  Grrrrr!!  Other than that, our rig's winterizing project has been successfully completed.  We got pink in the sink, pink in the lines, pink in the traps, and everything's fine.  Well, at least I hope it is..............Oh by the way, my reference to pink, is the color of the plumbing anti-freeze.

GROANER'S CORNER:((   Arthur is 90 years old. He's played golf every day since his retirement 25 years ago.  One day he arrives home looking downcast.  “That's it,” he tells his wife. “I'm giving up golf. My eyesight has gotten so bad that once I've hit the ball, I can't see where it went.”  His wife sympathizes and makes him a cup of tea. As they sit down, she says, “Why don't you take my brother with you and give it one more try.”  “That's no good,” sighs Arthur. “Your brother's a hundred and three. He can't help.”  “He may be a hundred and three,” says the wife, “but his eyesight is perfect.”  So the next day, Arthur heads off to the golf course with his brother-in-law. He tees up, takes an almighty swing, and squints down the fairway.  He turns to the brother-in-law. “Did you see the ball?”  “Of course I did!” replies the brother-in-law. “I have perfect eyesight.”  “Where did it go?” asks Arthur.  “I don't remember.”

"I want to divorce my wife."
"On what grounds?"
"She is out all night, every night, going from bar to bar."
"Are you saying she's an alcoholic or do you think she's cheating?"
"No, she is looking for me."

I FELT ENCOURAGED

SHIMMERS ON OUR PARK'S POND THIS AFTERNOON
Probably most RV folks have heard the announcement by now about the Canada/U.S. border opening in early November.  That is, 'for those people who have had their two Covid vaccinations and can prove it if asked'.  The border opening is especially good news for all Canadians whether they are RV folks or not.  Just the simple fact of having the border open again perks me up and gives me a good feeling.  And yes, I have had both my Covid shots.  At least now we have the option of going south which we haven't had for over a year and a half.  And, that of course immediately brings up the question....what will Kelly and I do.  Well, first and foremost I am not going to get myself too excited about it.  As it stands right now there are a number of uncertain roadblocks in the way for us to head south.  Not that it's impossible, just not probable at this time.  So, I will leave it at that and we will just let the cards fall where they may.  This whole winter travel topic is still a one day at a time thing for us............

A grey cloudy morning led to a bright sunny blue sky afternoon so with only a couple photos under my belt in the morning I was able to take a few more this afternoon when Pheebs and I took a walk around our Park's pond.

I'm in the process of winterizing our rig and it is going well despite one little misstep.  Pumping the plumbing anti-freeze into the lines I had forgotten to make sure the outside shower nozzle located in a rear bin was closed.  I pumped about a third of the anti-freeze into the bin.  Luckily, there weren't many things in the bin and I was able to easily mop it up with a sponge.  But I'm gonna need to get me some more anti-freeze now.

Pheebs and I are doing fine.  For supper tonight I whipped up another 2 egg omelet complete with onions and sausage bits.  No cheese.  I've made well over a dozen omelets these past couple months and I'm still upright.  Pheebs is doing fine as well except she is losing her hearing.  She can't hear me anymore if I talk in my normal soft tone voice and when we temporarily became separated in the woods a couple months ago I'm sure now she couldn't hear me calling her.  Other than that she's doing fine.  My furry little shadow just turned 12 last week.

SNOOZING IN MOM'S CHAIR

Kelly phoned tonight and we chatted for about an hour.  So nice to hear her voice.  We talked about the border opening up and possible winter travels.  I felt encouraged.

GROANER'S CORNER:((     Linda was with her mother while her older sister was being examined by a dentist. Linda kept herself busy playing with toys in the waiting room until she noticed that her mom was resting, her eyes closed.  With about six other patients waiting, Linda marched up to her mother, looked her straight in the face and shook her shoulder.  "Mommy," she yelled, "wake up! This is not church!"

WELL, SO MUCH FOR THAT

SUNSHINE IN THE EAST AND STORM CLOUDS TO THE WEST EARLIER THIS MORNING
Thunder, lightning, and rain, cut our morning walk short so we headed home.  A few brief bursts of sunshine later on but skies remained mainly cloudy.  So, another day done gone.

STEPPING OUT OF THE JEEP AT OUR WALKING LOCATION I HEARD THUNDER AND SAW LIGHTNING TO THE WEST SO WE QUICKLY SHORTENED UP OUR MORNING ROUTINE
I HAD LEFT A COUPLE SHED DOORS OPEN SO WE SCURRIED FOR HOME WITH SUNSHINE BEHIND US AND STORM CLOUDS AHEAD....ABOUT 1 MINUTE AFTER TAKING THIS PHOTO I HAD THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS GOING
In an email today, Kelly said she was up until 2 a.m.  Her mother has been accepted into hospice care at home and a medical bed was to be delivered yesterday.  That bed didn't arrive until close to midnight Monday night and then it had to be assembled by the 2 fellas who delivered it. And then they were to instruct Kelly on the bed's operation.  Kelly said no, she was done for the day.  A nurse is coming Wednesday morning to help out and hopefully show Kelly how to operate the bed's functions.  Oxygen is coming as well as a medical chair that can automatically stand a person up from a reclined position.

KELLY SENT THIS PHOTO LATER TODAY AFTER THE OXYGEN EQUIPMENT ARRIVED
With Kelly's advanced liver condition she was told by her Doctor a couple years ago to avoid any stress if possible.  Well, so much for that...................

A FIELD OF RECENTLY PLANTED WINTER WHEAT
GROANER'S CORNER:((  A woman in Georgia bought a magnolia tree from a local nursery but, after only a few months, its leaves shriveled and it appeared to be on its last legs. She took some leaf samples back to the nursery and demanded an explanation.  "Oh, I know exactly what's wrong with your magnolia tree, ma'am," said the manager.  "Good," she replied. "What is it?"  "Autumn!" he said.

FIGURED I HAD BETTER MAKE THAT A PRIORITY

A mish-mosh of photos tonight that didn't make it into any of my recent posts.

A sunny warm day with our temps topping out at about 75F.  Pretty darn nice for this time of year in these here parts.  After our morning walk, Pheebs and I came right home again.  The Jeep was in desperate need of a good clean-up and I figured I had better make that a priority while I still had the energy and interest to get it done.  Sometimes there is so much dog fur flying around inside the Jeep it's like driving in swirling furry fog.  The vacuum cleaner took care of most of that.  The windows were in need of a good going over as well.  A lot of doggy nose bumps on them.  Finishing that, we took Scooter for a run around a few big paved country blocks.  Home again I had to put the awning down to dry from all the recent rains.

Just as most trees lose their leaves in the Fall so do our Pine trees lose a good bunch of their needles.  We have had lots of them falling these past couple of days.  I will soon have to haul out our tall stepladder and clean the eaves again again.  Not one of my favorite tasks.
GROANER'S CORNER:((
During a bank heist, the Chief told the Sgt. to cover all exits so the robbers could not get away. Later the Sgt. reports to the chief. “Sorry sir but they got away.”  The chief very disappointed says, “I told you to cover all Exits.”  "I did” replied the Sgt. but they got away through the Entrance"
