I SOMETIMES WISH WE HAD MOVED TO THE AMERICAN SOUTHWEST YEARS AGO

It was 6 a.m. and I already had the fan beside my recliner going.  I knew it was going to be another uncomfortable hot sticky day and my outside activities would be curtailed to early morning.  Because of our increasingly hot summers the thought occurred to me if I had obtained an American citizenship years ago we would probably be living in a cooler humidity free climate somewhere in southern Colorado, northern New Mexico, or southeastern Arizona.  A little late in life to be thinking about that kinda stuff now but with summers becoming steadily hotter and stickier for longer periods of time in southern Ontario Canada and cold freezing winters still being cold freezing winters...maybe not huh.
ROADSIDE CHICORY
PHEEBS CHECKS OUT THE FLOWERS SLOWLY PASSING BY
Not a lot of extra energy to play with this morning but Pheebs and I did make the rounds south of Bayfield again.  It's funny how I have glommed on to one particular shorter route and have a habit of wandering along those same half dozen gravely roads about three times a week now.  It's so peaceful out there in the countryside and it's where I most enjoy to be.
Home before ten I cut some grass and doinked around with the camper van for a short while.  By noon it was hot and sticky enough for me to drag myself inside and scramble me into the life saving cool waters of a refreshing shower.  Knowing it wasn't likely I'd be going outside again I put on my pajamas.  It was 12:30.………..
Thanks for your continuing support folks.  You are all a clear part of making more of my days worthwhile than you will ever likely know.

GROANER'S CORNER:((  A little girl was given a tea set for her second birthday. It became one of her favorite toys, and when her mother went away for a few weeks to care for her sick aunt, the toddler loved to take her father a little cup of tea, which was just water really, while he was engrossed watching the news on TV. He sipped each "cup of tea" he was brought and lavished generous praise on the taste, leaving the little girl immensely proud.  Eventually the mother returned home and the father couldn't wait to show her how his little princess had been looking after him. On cue, the girl took him his "cup of tea" and he sipped it before praising it to the heavens.  The mother watched him drink it and said: "Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?"

POST NUMBER 4,1O2.....'MORE OF THE SAME'

Some posts flow easy and others not so much.  I do try to keep up with myself and leave some kind of record each day of what's going on in our lives here at the Bayfield Bunch but when uneventful days like today come along it's a real challenge not to make it just another day's slog through the same old daily stuff.
NICE MORNING ALONG GODERICH'S ST. CHRISTOPHER'S BEACH THIS MORNING
BIG TRUCKLOAD OF STRAW BALES HEADING DOWN THE ROAD
I GUESS SOME FOLKS JUST PARK WHEREVER THEY WANT TO
PROBABLY DECORATING FOR A SATURDAY AFTERNOON WEDDING
CAN YOU TELL PHEEBS ALWAYS GETS A SNACK AT GODERICH'S SOLO GAS BAR
Now having said that I can only leave you with more of the same again.  Jeep ride for Pheebs and I to Goderich and back complete with our usual harbor and beach sweep.  Home again I worked away at the van's exterior clean-up for a short while until about noon when it became too hot and miserably sticky for me to stay outside.  Came in the house and that was the end of another day.   Well anything interesting to write about that is.  There's a few medical things going on of course but I've probably been talking way to much about all that stuff lately so I'm making a conscious effort to keep a lid on that for awhile.  So I guess that's it for post number 4,102.....
GROANER'S CORNER:(( A man was walking home alone late one night when he hears a BUMP... BUMP... BUMP... behind him. Walking faster he looks back, and makes out the image of an upright coffin banging its way down the middle of the street towards him. BUMP... BUMP... BUMP... Terrified, the man begins to run towards his home, the coffin bouncing quickly behind him ... faster... faster... BUMP... BUMP... BUMP... He runs up to his door, fumbles with his keys, opens the door, rushes in, slams and locks the door behind him. However, the coffin crashes through his door, with the lid of the coffin clapping... clappity-BUMP... clappity-BUMP... clappity-BUMP... on the heels of the terrified man. Rushing upstairs to the bathroom, the man locks himself in. His heart is pounding; his head is reeling; his breath is coming in sobbing gasps. With a loud CRASH the coffin starts breaking down the door. Bumping and clapping towards him. The man SCREAMS and reaches for something heavy, anything .. his hand comes to rest on a large bottle of Robitussin. Desperate, he throws the cough syrup as hard as he can at the apparition... and... the coffin stops!!

A NICE DAY WHAT ELSE CAN I SAY

HEADING FOR RICHARD, GAYLE, AND BECKAMS HOUSE IN THE WOODS THIS MORNING
Another beautiful weather morning here comfortably nestled between the colorful rolling hills of rural southwestern Ontario and the vast cool waters of Lake Huron.  A nice morning in a quiet forest setting surrounded by tall stately trees found Kelly, Pheebs, the Freedo Vandito and I over at Richard and Gayle's forest setting not far from our place for coffee.  Had some questions about a few of the van's onboard systems and knew Richard would probably have the right answers or helpful suggestions.  And he did.  Again, a couple hours of quality time well spent.
NO NOT AUTUMN YET....BUT SOON:))
Home again I resumed my van clean-up this time tackling the driver's side exterior.  I was doing reasonably well until the miserable humidity built up and I had to pack it in.  Just as well I suppose.  Not feeling quite the best today I soon retreated into the coolness of our house and stayed there for the rest of the day.
GROANER'S CORNER:(( A bunch of years ago Bill and Hillary were driving through Little Rock, and when they passed by a gas station a big man yelled 'Hi Hillary' and Hillary shouted back, 'Hi Bubba'.  Bill asked' who was that and Hillary told him it was an old high school boyfriend. Bill said, 'See, if you married him you would be married to a gas station attendant, but you married me and now you're the First Lady.  'So Hillary told him, 'If I married him he would be the President now, and you would be the gas station attendant.'

puzzle.
"What's a 7-letter word for 'easily perceived or understood' that starts with 'O'?"
"Isn't it obvious?"
"It should be, but I can't figure it out. That's why I'm asking."

BIG SHIP MAKES A U-TURN AND STILL WORKING ON THE FREEDO VANDITO CLEAN-UP

FIRST TIME I'VE SEEN A BIG LAKE FREIGHTER COME INTO  GODERICH'S HARBOR BOW FIRST
Definitely a welcome touch of Autumn in the refreshingly cool early morning air with cooler 60F temperatures upon us.  With clear sunny skies breaking over the horizon it didn't take long to warm up a tad but overall with low humidity it was a totally acceptable mighty fine day.  Had a few things to pick up in Goderich so Pheebs and I headed up that way for a Jeep ride.  Think it was my only time remembering a large lake freighter turning around in the inner harbor.  No easy feat I'm sure.
NICE MORNING ALONG ROTARY COVES LAKESHORE AT THE DOG WALKING AREA
HARDY FLOWERS GROWING UP OUT OF A PEBBLE STREWN BEACH
KEEPING THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE
PASSING BY THE OUTER LIGHT STATION
I'M SURE THE CAPTAIN WILL BE KEEPING A CLOSE LOOK OUT FROM THE BRIDGE
A FORWARD CREWMAN KEEPS WATCH FROM THE BOW
A FOUR EYE LOOKOUT ON THE STARBOARD SIDE
THIS IS THE INNER HARBOR WHERE THE BIG SHIP WILL MAKE A U-TURN
THOSE FISHERMEN IN THE ALUMINUM BOAT HAD BETTER KEEP AN EYE ON THAT BIG HULL HEADED FOR THEM
OH-OH LOOKS LIKE THEY ARE DUMPING ALL THEIR VODKA OVERBOARD
'HEY WHO LEFT THE VODKA VALVE OPEN'!!

'SORRY CAPTAIN GUESS IT WAS ME'
I'M THINKING THIS SHIP ONCE WENT BY ANOTHER NAME
A FORWARD BOW THRUSTER CHURNS UP THE WATER
Home later I dusted off my cleaning supplies once more and went after the exterior of the camper van.  I've made a little headway  but have a long way to go.  It's a good project for me and keeps me and my mind actively occupied.  I think the 'Freedo Vandito' came along just at the right time despite it's exterior cleaning challenges.
LOTS OF CLEANING SUPPLIES
Still some pain in my back but only when I go to the washroom.  Still taking the prescribed pain pills as well.  Ahhhhh tis quite a life we have going on here.  No complaints:))
SHIP'S LARGE PROPELLER FROTHS UP THE HARBOR WATER
HEY THERE GO THE FISHERMEN SCOOTING AROUND THE OTHER SIDE
I'M THINKNG THAT BROWN WATER IS MUD STIRRED UP FROM THE BOTTOM

THE ALGOMA COMPASS BEGINS IT'S TURN TO PORT
STILL TURNING
THIS WAS OUR LAST GLIMPSE OF THE FREIGHTER AS WE EXITED THE HARBOR AREA
