SPOTTED THIS LITTLE FELLOW ON OUR SUNROOM WINDOW TODAY
It was our bi-monthly country coffee break for my good friend/neighbor Richard and I this morning. His turn to drive and we checked out a lot of lake front views and properties between Goderich and south of Bayfield. As always it was a great non stop excitingly interesting conversation. I do so very much enjoy our mobile country road chats.

Not much going on today. Nice cool sunny morning but rains rolled in early afternoon for awhile before skies cleared making for a very much most beautiful finish to the day. Cameras never made it out of the house so I’m low on photos tonight. Pheebs and I are definitely needing a morning outing. Did manage to get some more shed cleaning done.
A LEFT OVER PHOTO FROM MONDAY NIGHT
Looking for the name of a road in our area a few days ago I was surprised to see Google Earth had ‘finally’ updated their satellite images of our area here in Huron County. For years the photos were blurred and I had often wondered when they would update our region with clearer coverage. Judging from the date it was done in August 2015 and I only noticed it now. I have included two aerial photos below to show where we live and our proximity to Bayfield and Lake Huron. Now that the imagery is improved I will begin showing you more of our area such as where I take many of my photos such as the Hullett Marsh, Goderich harbor, Amish/Mennonite country, a favorite pond area near Ben Miller, Grand Bend and of course Bayfield itself. If any readers can think of any place I have mentioned in my writings just let me know and I will locate the area and publish an aerial photo. With this clear Google Earth feature now it may lend a little perspective as to where Pheebs and & I go on many of our morning photo travels.

GROANER’S CORNER:(( This man was sitting quietly reading his paper one morning, peacefully enjoying himself, when his wife sneaks up behind him and swacks him on the back of his head with a huge frying pan. He asks, 'What was that for?' She replies, 'What was that piece of paper in your pants pocket with the name Marylou written on it?' He says, 'Oh honey, remember two weeks ago when I went to the horse races? Marylou was the name of one of the horses I bet on.' She is appeased and goes off to work around the house. Three days later he is once again sitting in his chair reading and she repeats the frying pan swatting. He says, 'What's that for this time?' She answered, 'Your horse just called.'

Now here’s a joke with little hope of reality in regards to America’s future and everything to do with a true reality concerning England’s future………The President of the United States and England’s Prime Minister are shown a time machine which can see 100 years into the future. They both decide to test it by asking it one question each. The President goes first: "What will the USA be like in 100 years time?" The machine whirrs and beeps and goes into action and gives him a printout. He reads it out: "The country is in good hands under the new President, crime is non-existent, there is no conflict, the economy is healthy. There are no worries." England’s Prime Minister thinks, "Hey that’s not a bad time machine” so he too asks the same question. "What will Britain be like in 100 years time?" The machine whirrs and beeps and goes into action, and he gets a printout. But he just stares at it. "Tell us what it says." inquires the President. The Prime Minister answers, "I can't! It's all in Arabic!"

Caught a lucky break late Tuesday night. We still had a lot of things sitting outside from our metal shed clean-up and with no rain predicted overnight there was no problem with leaving things out overnight. Key words there were 'no rain predicted'. Last thing I did around 11 p.m. before shutting off my laptop was to check our live radar weather site. 'OMG' just a few miles offshore and headed our way were 2 big green rain Monsters. I was out of my chair in a flash and out the back door scrambling around quickly putting water susceptible things back into the shed. About half an hour later I heard it raining. A lucky break indeed........………

Due for her 3 year rabies shot we loaded up the Pheebs and headed off to our Vet in Zurich Ontario this morning. A general check-up and nails trimmed. Pheebs passed her medical exam with flying colors and the Vet said she’s in good shape. It’s all those happy morning Jeep rides you know. Knowing we were looking for a dog this is the same Vet clinic that phoned us in August of 2011 saying they knew of a dog needing a good home. And that dog of course was the fabulous Pheebs. That sure was a win-win day for all concerned. It is also the same clinic where we said our final good-byes to Max and Checkers 5 years ago. South Huron Veterinary Clinic

With cooler temps and sunny skies upon us for the first half of today work continued at a leisurely pace on the shed clean-ups. Always a nice feeling to see things coming together all organized neat and clean again.
GROANER’S CORNER:(( A teacher decides to help one of her kindergarten students put on his boots? He asked for help and she could see why. Even with her pulling and him pushing, the little boots still didn't want to go on. Finally, when the second boot was on, she had worked up a sweat.
She almost cried when the little boy said, "Teacher, they're on the wrong feet." She looked and sure enough, they were. It wasn't any easier pulling the boots off than it was putting them on. She managed to keep her cool as together they worked to get the boots back on - this time on the right feet. He then announced, "These aren't my boots."
She bit her tongue rather than get right in his face and scream, "Why didn't you say so?" like she wanted to. And, once again she struggled to help him pull the ill-fitting boots off his little feet.
No sooner they got the boots off and he said, "They're my brother's boots. My Mom made me wear them." Now she didn't know if she should laugh or cry. But, she mustered up the grace and courage she had left to wrestle the boots on his feet again. Helping him into his coat, she asked, "Now, where are your mittens?"
He said, "I stuffed them in the toes of my boots." The teacher has taken a 2 week recuperation leave……………
PHEEBE RUNNING WITH A NEW LITTLE FRIEND MONDAY NIGHT
Our 51F temperature this morning was like a magic elixir for me. So much so that I blew the drums right off the Energizer Bunny spending a solid 6 hours on our metal shed clean-up. This was a big job long overdue and one I had been avoiding for a long time. Cleaning up the carport and carport storage area these past few weeks the metal shed caught a lot of the overflow. With cooler temps upon us now my batteries were quickly re-charged and I took full advantage of that today. Kelly as well and between the two of us we accomplished a lot. Some stuff to the Goodwill store and a bunch of stuff into the dumpster. Stiff and sore tonight but what a nice feeling of accomplishment wrestling that big shed mess back under control. Probably another half day before we can call that project complete then I'll tackle our other shed and that will be a big job as well.

After publishing Monday night's post I walked outside with Pheebs and while standing in the driveway heard the sounds of thunder out over the lake. Raced back into the house & checked the computer's live weather and sure enough 2 fast moving storm cells coming across the lake heading straight for us. Grabbed my cameras, loaded up my furry little storm chaser Buddy & we hustled ourselves towards the lake.

BAYFIELD’S VERY WET MAIN STREET
RAIN IS STREAKING DOWN
Soon as we drove out from under our forest canopy I caught site of the sky and knew we were minutes away from heavy winds and rain. By the time we got into Bayfield we could hardly see where we were going as the storm swept ashore packing torrential rains. Temperature plummeted and Kelly told me later she watched hail bouncing off the Motorhome. I never saw any hail where I was and the fast moving storm was gone almost before it had even got here. Lasted maybe 7 or 8 minutes.

Bayfield's Pioneer Park overlooking Lake Huron is always a great vantage point for sunsets and storms so Pheebs and pulled in and exited the Jeep. Rain had stopped but everything was dripping wet as dark storm clouds slowly gave way to brightening skies out over the lake.

While taking photos I was surprised to hear the voice and laughter of a small girl behind me & when I turned to look I saw Pheebe had found herself a new friend and within minutes the two of them were racing around playing. I'm thinking it was her Grandma & Grandpa with her as I talked to the lady a short time later.

Took a few photos along the beach then walked out onto the pier for a few more. On the way back to the Jeep I noticed the folks from the yellow Jeep had pulled in and walked down to the beach. When I reached the Jeep I saw the little girl and her Grandparents down at the water's edge and knew from my vantage point combined with the evening light I could probably get a few nice photos of those folks. Earlier at Pioneer Park I had talked briefly with this lady and knowing I probably had a couple nice photos of her and her Granddaughter I had mentioned to her she could see them at the 'Bayfield Bunch' site tonight. Knowing she might remember I took 17 photos of these folks along the shoreline of which I have included a few here. If the lady from the yellow Jeep happens to read this and likes the photos I would be happy to send you the rest of the pictures. I'm always happy if and when an opportunity presents itself for me to do that for folks:))
I had intended to slip out and take a few rising full Moon photos as well Monday night but within minutes of getting home I completely forgot to turn around and go back out again. Darn this short term memory of mine!!
GROANER'S CORNER:(( While on a road trip, an elderly couple stopped at a roadside restaurant for lunch. After finishing their meal, they left the restaurant and resumed their trip. When leaving, the elderly woman unknowingly left her glasses on the table. And, she didn't miss them until after they had been driving about twenty minutes. By then, to add to the aggravation, they had to travel quite a distance before they could find a place to turn around in order to return to the restaurant to retrieve her glasses. All the way back, the elderly husband became the classic grouchy old man. He fussed and complained and scolded his wife relentlessly during the entire return drive. The more he chided her, the more agitated he became. He just wouldn't let up one minute. To her relief, they finally arrived at the restaurant. And as the woman got out of the car and hurried inside to retrieve her glasses, the old geezer yelled to her, "While you're in there, you might as well get my hat too".
