The new stuff is usually good, but yes, it's overwhelming with with such tiny buttons and fonts and whiz-bang. As for texting - we don't even allow it to reach our phone. And our phone doesn't take pictures, doesn't store photos or songs. It places and receives phone calls. Keep on ranting, Al, you are the one person who can do it best!Jerry and Suzyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01381487159402842587noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10886995.post-48806109112094381152010-08-03T08:19:27.421-04:002010-08-03T08:19:27.421-04:00Senior Power, what a novel idea, only trouble is b...Senior Power, what a novel idea, only trouble is by the time I got to the bottom of the blog, I forgot what I was reading about and had to start over. So much for Senior power here. As usual it is a Bayfield Al classic, I have to agree with you on a lot of it, I for one don't send text messages, and unless it is a real emergency I use my new Canon for pictures, not my phone. If you text me , I will read it, but don't expect these bumblefingers to peck out a return message. If it's important I'll call you back with the return message. That way you will recieve it in this century rather than how long it would take me to figure out the way to text back..Be safe out there. The technology brought Rick's help with my computer issues yesterday. Thanks again Rick! I love all the new things, but like you I have trouble keeping up with it all. I don't think it's just seniors having trouble though. There are so many changes, I believe everyone has trouble keeping up.Karen and Alhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15284661066870109259noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10886995.post-26558126235272175922010-08-03T01:04:09.233-04:002010-08-03T01:04:09.233-04:00You won't get any arguments from me on this is...You won't get any arguments from me on this issue. Most of the time I don't bother with new stuff simply because I can't read the instructions or the icons/buttons are too small for my large fingers.

I doubt anything will change though, and I am going to quit worrying about it because it isn't worth it to me to be on top of the game any more.Gypsyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18052445200220681513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10886995.post-5554854834415756922010-08-02T23:58:08.297-04:002010-08-02T23:58:08.297-04:00Thank goodness I qualify for the Senior Panel! The “Senior Gauntlet Panel”! Probably the ...OMG!! The “Senior Gauntlet Panel”! Probably the scariest idea I’ve ever read in your blogs Al – and, that’s really saying something! Leave the “whiz-bangers” alone, they are doing a great job. As one now old senior used to sing “the times they are a changin’”.

And why go halfway – how about no remote for your TV! Just when you’re comfortable in a nice easy chair, get up and stumble across the living room and turn the channel clicker – those were the good old days alright.

And small print on computer screens! You must need stronger glasses or at least look at the some of the tools the “whiz-bangers” put in your Windows 7(and, yes it’s better than XP) OS to allow you to make your print CRAYON size if you want!

Wow! A real live “Al like rant”! I’ve been wanting to do this ever since I started blogging – but, never on my own blog!

I do agree with you on Picasa though – folks should just click away and watch what happens – they might be amazed at how easy it is with a bit of practice!Rickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16523089898331291694noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10886995.post-38449623093485587302010-08-02T22:14:58.796-04:002010-08-02T22:14:58.796-04:00I like your take on senior wisdom and common sense...I like your take on senior wisdom and common sense.
