OH WELL, IT'S ALL IN THE CHALLENGE OF THE READ

A LATE OCTOBER MORNING IN BAYFIELD
Trees are slowly losing their leaves but we still have lots of Autumn colors left continuing to show off the season.  Although our day and night temps have dropped, we are certainly enjoying these sunny days right now.

I ONLY COUNTED 3 BOATS LEFT IN THE WATER TIED UP TO THEIR SLIPS
ALL BOATS ARE OUT OF THE WATER ON THE RIVER'S SOUTH SIDE

Out for her walk with Kelly Thursday morning, Pheebs chased a rabbit and while doing so, hurt her leg and came back limping.  So, no Jeep ride for us guys Thursday.  Her ankle seemed better this morning so we did manage a Jeep ride but no walk.  We puttered ourselves around in Bayfield for half an hour or so and I took my first walk out onto Bayfield's new bridge pedestrian walkway.  It officially opened last week.  Aside from a few small things to finish up here and there I think it is fair to say Bayfield's new highway 21 bridge over the Bayfield River is now complete.

I winterized our RV today and everything went off without a hitch.  I have my good buddy Richard to thank for that.  He showed me how to do it back in the Fall of 2020 and for some miraculous reason, my faulty memory has retained his directions.

Kelly cleaned up some flower beds this afternoon while I loaded up all the vehicle cleaners and waxes and brought them inside for the winter.  We don't have a big place here and with some of the outside summer stuff having to come inside it does get a little crowded.

I started a new book yesterday entitled, You and Your Own Universe by Silviu Pristavu.  I found the beginning chapters not only enlightening but very encouraging as well.  However, the further I read, the more bogged down I seemed to become and at the moment I'm stuck.  Sometimes, things just get too complicated for me.  It's either that, or I complicate them myself.  Oh well, it's all in the challenge of the read I suppose.

THIS PHOTO WAS ALSO TAKEN FROM THE CENTER OF THE BRIDGE'S WALKWAY THIS MORNING
GROANER'S CORNER:(( A Canadian Park Ranger is giving some hikers a warning about bears, “Brown bears are usually harmless. They avoid contact with humans so we suggest you attach small bells to your rucksacks and give the bears time to get out of your way. However, grizzly bears are extremely dangerous. If you see any grizzly-bear droppings leave the area immediately.  “So how do we know if they’re grizzly bear droppings?” asks one of the ramblers.  “It’s easy,” replies the Ranger. “They’re full of small bells.”

- “Anyone want to buy some exercise equipment? I’m having a going-out-of-fitness sale.”

- I tried to organize a hide-and-seek tournament, but it was a complete failure. Good players are hard to find.

  1. Beautiful AND interesting photos. And as for the book, sometimes authors drop the ball too; maybe it's not all your fault. They really do! Just like the rest of us.

  2. The harbour is so empty looking now. The new walkway looks wonderful and will get a lot of use I'm sure. Hopefully Phoebe is all healed soon. Sometimes reading can just be fun and entertaining without too much thought put into it.
