THE CLOSEST I CAN BE TO BEING OUTSIDE

 BAYFIELD'S NEW BRIDGE FROM A A BOATER'S EYE VIEW
Rain came in the night and hung around most of the morning cooling things down nicely.  Seeing how I had just washed the Jeep a few days ago Pheebs and I stayed off the muddy country roads and simply took ourselves for a slow Jeep waddle into and around Bayfield this morning.  For a weekend, at this time of year, there was very little traffic around anywhere, and of course, that is always very welcome in my world.

I THINK THESE FLOWERS MIGHT BE 'SWEET PEA'

The new Bayfield Bridge has been open to traffic for a number of months now but around the bridge, there is still lots of work going on.  The pedestrian walkway is still being built as well as new landscaping at both the north and south approaches to the bridge with most of the activity going on along the west side of the bridge facing the lake.

LOOKING SOUTH I CAN SEE THEY ARE MAKING A ROAD DOWN THE BANK, AROUND A CURVE, AND UNDER THE BRIDGE
LOOKING NORTH I SEE A LOT OF LANDSCAPING WORK GOING ON HERE
THE PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY IS SLOWLY TAKING SHAPE

DID YOU NOTICE ANYTHING ODD HERE??
Needless to say, the wet weather kept me inside for most of the day.  I'm so glad we decided to add a sunroom to our place about 18 years ago.  It was a long time getting built but it sure has been worth the wait in those early days.  I spend more time in this room than any other room in the house.  With all the big windows it's the closest I can be to outside without actually being outside.  It's great for winter's cold snowy days and summer's hot and humid days.

IT'S RARE FOR ME TO WATCH TV IN THE SUNROOM UNLESS IT IS SOMETHING I CONSIDER IMPORTANT

At the time of posting this tonight we have rain-packed storm cells coming in off the lake but checking our live weather radar site I think we are finally in the clear.  There had been talk of possible tornados on the 6 o'clock news but if any do occur they will be further inland.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( 10 Things You Never Hear in Church::

1. Hey! It's my turn to sit in the front pew!
2. I was so enthralled, I never noticed your sermon went 25 minutes over time.
3. Personally I find witnessing much more enjoyable than golf.
4. I've decided to give our church the $500 a month I used to send to TV evangelists.
5. I volunteer to be the permanent teacher for the Junior High Sunday School class.
6. Forget the denominational minimum salary. Let's pay our pastor so he can live like we do.
7. I love it when we sing hymns I've never heard before!
8. Since we're all here, let's start the service early.
9. Pastor, we'd like to send you to this Bible seminar in the Bahamas.
10. Nothing inspires me and strengthens my commitment like our annual stewardship campaign!

  1. That shelter is on some tilt! We saw an RV yesterday that was on a serious tilt too. The back end (this was in a campground) had to be a good two feet lower than the tow bar. Surely they weren't going to leave it like that????

  2. Well yay, Google let me in today :-) Love your macro flowers and their visitors. They're sure making that bridge and surrounding area quite lovely - such a nice addition to your pretty area. Hope that leaning shade cover doesn't end up in the water! How fun to have a boatload of flowers. Your sunroom is such a nice space to hang out.

  3. IT'S RARE FOR ME TOO AL to WATCH TV UNLESS IT IS SOMETHING I CONSIDER IMPORTANT.

And like you and pheebs, I also watched in earnest.

So now everyone can be clear on what Trump did during those 187 minutes. He watched TV, he lobbied senators to delay the vote count, he put a target on Pence’s back, ignored pleas for help, sat around while other leaders organized plans, and then blew the rioters a kiss on their way out the door.
    K~

  4. That's quite a lot of interesting work still going on at the bridge. They fixed up an old bridge in Meadord and put a wheellchair sidewalk on one side - but there's no place for a wheelchair to go on the far side!
