BEAM ME UP SCOTTY...NOW!!

I AM SO THANKFUL WE DO NOT LIVE IN A CITY
Pheebs and I sure had ourselves quite a dose of fresh country air this morning while walking at our gravely road spot.  We had a brisk east wind blowing across the fields on that side of the road and sure enough, there were two big tractors hauling two even bigger manure spreaders.  Holy smokes, the smell almost knocked both of us out but we were determined to do our full walk, so our full walk we did do, despite the aromatic air surrounding us.

 HERE COMES 'BIG SMELLY'
THIS GUY IS REALLY LAYING IT ON.....OH GEEZZZ I HOPE I DON'T GET ANY ON MY SHOES
THE FELLA ON THE ROAD TOP LEFT IS ON HIS WAY BACK TO THE BARN FOR ANOTHER LOAD
AND THIS IS OUR WALKING ROAD TOO
 A NICELY FORMED WILLOW TREE
EVEN IF OUR MORNING DRIVES ARE SHORTER NOW, PHEEBS AND I DO LOVE OUR JEEP RIDES
Home again I right away had myself busy out in the front yard.  Dumped and raked out three more bags of 'Black Earth' with a good dusting of peat moss mixed in.  To that, I added a generous amount of grass seed, then again lightly raked the seeds into the earth.  I figure if even one blade of grass sprouts I shall call my efforts a resounding success.  Have to look at everything in a positive light, right.

THE DARK EARTH IS NOW SEEDED
 LOADING UP MY GARDENING TOOLS
ONE OF OUR AZALEA BUSHES IS BLOOMING
 I LOVE SEEING BUMBLY BEES
AND WE EVEN HAVE BURGUNDY TRILLIUMS IN THE FRONT YARD
OUR WHITE MAGNOLIA TREE IS BLOSSOMING AS WELL
I totally amazed myself this afternoon by successfully Gorilla gluing a broken piece of plastic back together and also gluing a new base on a broken bird feeder.  Will wonders ever cease.

THIS PLASTIC DEVICE HOLDS THE RV DOOR OPEN AND I  ACCIDENTALLY BROKE IT IN HALF LAST WEEK....IT'S HARD TO TELL WHERE I GLUED IT BUT ITS TO THE RIGHT
SOME DAYS I AM ALMOST TOO AFRAID TO VENTURE OUT TO THE FRONT YARD
WE HAVE TWO PAIRS OF ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKS COMING TO THE FEEDERS NOW
FEMALE GROSBEAK
EVERY YEAR I FORGET THE NAME OF THIS BIRD
Well, for the umpteenth time I am not watching the news again.  My habit had been to only click on the hourly headlines half a dozen times a day to keep myself informed but I'm so disgusted with what's going on that I simply can't tolerate it any longer.  The moral decay, the lost sense of decency along with the total destruction of common sense, sound judgment, honesty, the inability to understand reality, and with people's overall disgusting gullibility running rampant, it is like a fast-burning cancer ripping its way through the human race.  I see very little hope for this Planet.  Beam me up Scotty.  Now!!
THESE HIGHLAND CATTLE GUYS LIVE JUST DOWN THE ROAD FROM US

I think we may have bumped into the 70F mark today under sunny skies and a pleasant cool breeze.  Surprisingly, my legs hardly bothered me on our afternoon walk as Pheebs and I skipped right along.  Not taking my camera with me might have had something to do with it.  Without a heavy camera around my neck, I have a tendency to walk faster instead of heavily slogging along stopping to look at this and that.  Only just a theory of course so we'll see how tomorrow goes.  Of course, going anywhere without my camera is akin to going anywhere without my pants on.

OUR MAPLE BUDS ARE FINALLY OPENING
GROANER'S CORNER:(( Two Iranians met in California. One started to greet the other in the language of their mother country.  The other Iranian motioned for him to stop and said, "We're in America now. Speak Spanish!"

A teacher says, “Okay, class. Today we’re going to be talking about the tenses. If I say ‘I’m beautiful,’ which tense is it?”  Little Johnny raises his hand and says, “Obviously past tense, Miss.”

  1. What a great set of photos!! Sounds like you had a fine day, aromatic at the beginning, but mostly fine. Thanks for the tour. And even for the very scary grackle, if that's what it is. I do love those cattle.

  3. I 'think' you are going to have to pay the $10 to get a new "RV T-Style Door Holder Catch", don't think that glue is going to hold very long. And YES, the world is upside down...

  5. Love your pond pic, trillium, and blackbird, and you might want to take some hair clippers for the Highland Cow...needs his bangs trimmed so he can see. : -)
