I DID SOMETHING THIS MORNING I HAD NOT DONE FOR NEARLY 29 YEARS

LOOKS LIKE THIS CANADA GOOSE ON OUR PARK'S POND IS DOING A BIT OF SPRING PREENING
Kelly and I met in the summer of 1993 in a little coffee shop near Doon (Kitchener) Ontario.  From that time until this morning I have not had to go to a barbershop for a haircut.  Kelly's been cutting my hair for all these years right up to this winter.  With my hair growing longer I was of course once again beginning to look very much like my usual scraggly self.  When I mentioned it might be time for a haircut, Kelly suggested maybe it was time for me to get a real haircut for a change.  That caught me by surprise because, in my mind, I thought I was getting real haircuts all these years.  My hair always looked just fine to me.  Of course, not one to argue, I took her suggestion and this morning at 9 a.m. I found myself firmly planted in a barber's chair at First Choice Haircutters in Goderich, Ontario.  Everything went as I had remembered except of course the price of the haircut.  I walked out the door with my wallet feeling much lighter by $25.  My hair might be down to my knees and dragging on the ground before I need another one of them there darn commercial haircuts!!

I SAW 'OLD LONESOME' ON MY WAY TO GODERICH THIS MORNING

We had another gorgeous pre-Spring day with sunshine and 63F temperatures.  Needless to say, I had myself outside on the end of my wheelbarrow again.  Grackles, Cardinals, a Downie Woodpecker, Juncos, Chipmunks, and Squirrels were all in the yard.  How great it was to see a couple Grackles drinking and splashing around in the birdbath I had just cleaned up Wednesday.

As tired and as sore as my muscles are tonight from my outside Spring clean-up, I welcome the discomfort once again as I do every year at this time.  It is just so great to be outside and doing something.  Spring is my second favorite time of the year with Autumn being the first.  I have never been or will I ever be a Winter person and thankfully, I do not have to even be concerned about Winter again for at least the next seven months.  Rock on Dudes:))))))

GROANER'S CORNER:((   Morton was reading the paper after breakfast when he came across an article about a beautiful actress who was about to marry a football player known primarily for his lack of IQ and common sense.  He turned to his wife with a questioning look on his face and said: "I'll never understand why the biggest j*rks get the most attractive wives."  His wife smiled and replied: "Why thank you, dear!"

Nutritionist: You should eat 1200 calories a day.
Me: OK, and how many at night?

A man visits his doctor and says, "Doctor, I keep seeing green Martians before my eyes."
The doctor asks, "Have you seen a psychiatrist?"
The patient says, "No, only green Martians!"

  4. I think blue jays can empty a birdbath almost as fast as grackles, a high level of enthusiasm. Glad you survived the haircut in a real barber's chair. Looks OK to me!

  5. It's always easier for the fake haircutter to begin again on a real haircut !

  6. Was hoping you would take a selfie of your new "do." Nice haircut.

The first photo of the Canadian Goose would be lovely framed and hanging on the wall. Terrific photo.

  7. Wow we almost didn't recognize you, just kidding. Either way, both styles were ok but you look more serious now ;-) If birds take a cold bath it must be springtime.

  8. That $25 is why, even when converted to the USD, I still cut my own hair. What's left of it.
