MY MIND IS TRYING TO HANG ONTO ITSELF

Snow came in the night leaving us with an all-white landscape this morning.  One look out the window made me want to pull my blanket over my head and wait for May.  More snow followed and needless to say I was once again busy with my snow shovel today.  Luckily, it was only an inch of the cold white fluffy stuff and our morning cloud cover soon dissipated leaving us with a nice beautiful bright sunshiny day.  Hey, those last three words reminded me of a song.....I Can See Clearly Now by Johnny Nash.

DID YOU SEE THE LITTLE LAMB'S HEAD BOTTOM RIGHT
Pheebs and I took a drive around the back roads of our Park snapping a few pics and laying down tracks through the new-fallen snow.  From there we beetled off into Bayfield for a few more photos before heading home again whereupon I spent some more time on the end of my snow shovel.  Underneath that light dusting of snow it is still thick and treacherous uneven ice.  My leg muscles are actually sore from tensing them up while on the slippery ice to keep from falling.  I did have one minor tumble but it was nothing to write home about.

It's funny how a person's weight can be looked at in two different ways.  If Kelly loses two pounds it's cause for concern and if I lose two pounds it's cause for celebration.  She eats three times as much as me and losses weight while I eat three times less than her and gain weight.  Just don't figure!!  Kelly's liver doctor phoned a couple weeks ago and wants her to come in for an ultrasound so we'll be off to London's University Hospital Monday morning.

HERE COMES THE MORNING MAIL TRUCK ON ITS WAY TO OUR PARK
NICE TO THE SUN'S RAYS GAINING STRENGTH EACH DAY
Here's a good example of how this poor memory of mine works.  While pealing a mandarin orange this afternoon I remembered a blog reader's comment asking me a question about something she saw in one of my photos.  That something was a couple mandarins sitting on the computer desk.  JudithK wondered if they were persimmons.  I had to get on the internet to find out what persimmons were.  I remember looking it up once before but of course, I forgot what it said.  Bottom line here though is my memory.  This goes on every day for me.  Readers periodically ask me questions and if I don't answer those questions at the same time I read it, it's gone.  Yet, it could be a couple days or a month later when something might trigger that question in my mind again.  If like today I am near my computer I can answer it.  If I'm not, I will forget that question all over again.  I keep telling myself to answer comment questions or emails right away but yet I always think to myself, I'll get back to it in a minute, and....... My intentions are good but my actions leave much to be desired.  This aging process is getting to be quite a PITA:((

THERE SEEMS TO BE A DIFFERENCE OF OPINION ON WHICH WAY TO GO HERE
 HEADING HOME
I've read a number of Delores Cannon's non-fiction books in these past six months but halfway through the 'Convoluted Universe Book Three' I finally bogged down, ground to a halt, and could go no further.  I think I over-saturated myself with the subject matter these past number of months.  It's going to take me a long time to digest what I have read. (if I can remember any of it that is)  I next chose a book called Walden by Henry David Thoreau but only a couple dozen pages into the book I gave it up.  I found his writing too confusingly fanciful and flowery.  I am now reading American Cosmic by D.W. Pusulka.  This is another one of those 'outside the box' brain stretchers.  I'm only about fifty or sixty pages into the book and already my mind is trying to hang onto itself.

 BAYFIELD'S BEACH AREA
GROANER'S CORNER:(( The little moron said, 'I was worried that my Mechanic might try to rip me off.   I was relieved when he told me all I needed was turn signal fluid.'

- Old age is when former classmates are so gray, wrinkled, and bald, they don't recognize you anymore.

- Another sign that you are growing older is when you keep more food in the fridge than beer.

- The best way to forget all your troubles is to wear really tight shoes.

It used to be only death and taxes .  Now, of course, there's shipping and handling, too.

- It's frustrating when you reach the age & stage of life where you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions anymore.

- My mind works like lightning,...........one brilliant 'Flash' and it is gone!!

  1. Ha. Persimmons vs mandarins. They do look alike - at a distance. Your description of how you remembered the question is very familiar to me. I keep little note pads with pencils beside them all over the house to note down various questions, etc. When I remember to look at them, I think, WHAT?
Fine photos today, as is usual with your work. I do hope Kelly's ultrasound is AOK.

  2. Understand your feelings about shoveling, Al. We've had about 20 inches in the last week plus. I am ready to divorce my snow shovel. Your photos are lovely and yes I do love the beautiful of our mountains after a fresh snow.
