THERE SEEMS TO BE SOME TALK GOING AROUND.....'HO-HUM' & 'DIDDELY-DO'

THERE ARE A LOT OF REALLY NICE HOMES IN BAYFIELD
As expected, we woke up to a white landscape again this morning in this ever-changing climate we are experiencing this season.  We had maybe an inch of snow on the ground if that. Snow can sure make things look pretty and especially around this holiday season when many outside Christmas decorations are still up.

Snowy roads as Pheebs and I headed into Bayfield for a wee drive around the village.  Despite the 19F temps and wind chill factor of 9, I was surprised at the number of people out and about walking.  Even some protesters on one corner of Clan Gregor Square.

I THINK THERE IS SNOW IN THEM THERE DARK CLOUDS ON THE HORIZON
LOOKS LIKE ANCIENT CAVE DRAWINGS RIGHT HERE IN BAYFIELD
NOPE, IT'S JUST AN OLD CONCRETE BRIDGE ABUTMENT ACROSS THE BAYFIELD RIVER
IN FRONT OF BAYFIELD'S LIBRARY ON MAIN STREET
PERHAPS A COUPLE MANNEQUINS ON A COLD WINTER'S DAY....NOPE, THOSE ARE TWO REAL LIVE CANADIAN GALS JUST HANGING AROUND OUTSIDE ENJOYING THE BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES
LOOKS LIKE THIS GROUP OF HARDY CANUCKS ARE GETTING READY FOR A WALK OR SOMETHING
 'OOOPS' I JUST GOT BUSTED
I'M STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT PSY-OP MEANS
Taking some photos in Bayfield's Pioneer Park overlooking Lake Huron I almost froze my hands off because I didn't bother to put a pair of warm mitts on before stepping out of the Jeep.

 PHEEBS CHECKS OUT THE TERRITORY
There seems to be some talk going around the Park (Ho-Hum) at the moment saying our Park has been sold with new owners taking over February 1rst.   If I had a dollar for every time I have heard the Park has been sold in the past 3 years I could probably buy myself a whole case of yummy peanut butter.  We'll see...........

Kelly's mother's house in Spencerport New York has been tentatively sold.  It'll mark the first time in over 65 years that Kelly will not have her childhood home to return to for visits.  The end of an era for her.

HEADING HOME TO BREW MYSELF UP A COFFEE
GROANER'S CORNER:((   A cowboy, who just moved to Wyoming from Texas, walks into a bar and orders three mugs of beer. He sits in the back of the room, drinking a sip out of each one in turn. When he finishes them, he comes back to the bar and orders three more.  The bartender approaches and tells the cowboy, "You know, a mug goes flat after I draw it. It would taste better if you bought one at a time."  The cowboy replies, "Well, you see, I have two brothers. One is in Arizona, the other is in Colorado.  When we all left our home in Texas, we promised that we'd drink this way to remember the days when we drank together. So I'm drinking one beer for each of my brothers and one for myself."  The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there.  The cowboy becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the same way. He orders three mugs and drinks them in turn.  One day, he comes in and only orders two mugs. All the regulars take notice and fall silent. When he comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, "I don't want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my condolences on your loss."  The cowboy looks quite puzzled for a moment, then a light dawns in his eyes and he laughs.  "Oh, no, everybody's just fine," he explains, "It's just that my wife made me join the Baptist Church and I had to quit drinking."  "Hasn't affected my brothers though."

  3. Love the craftsman bungalow in the first photo, Al. Of more interest to us is Clan Gregor Square, as DIana’s MacGregor ancestors immigrated from Scotland to the US through Canada. You may recall her post about it in 2019. A resilient and proud clan, for sure. We will have to see if Bayfield holds a family connection. https://explorvistas.com/2019/09/29/macgregor-despite-them-shall-flourish-forever/

  5. My mother lived in her home 63 years. It is a turning point in your life when that home is empty. Loved Groaner. Elva Shannon
