OH WELL, BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD I GO AGAIN

'Brrrrr' it felt cold out there this morning at 18F with a wind chill factor of 11F.  Must be January.  I toyed with the idea of not going outside but 'you know who' was rarin to go so it was out the door and a-rarin we did went.  But, we didn't rare too far again and were soon home where it was toasty warm inside.  I like toasty warm.  I like it a lot.

A solid overcast sky cast a dreary look across the landscape and I was hard-pressed to get myself into photo mode.  Luckily, we wandered past a couple tractors and a few cows.  Oh, and some apples on a tree branch.  It snowed most all afternoon but at the time of posting this tonight our skies have cleared and we ended the day in frosty sunshine.

Although 'not' a New Year's resolution, I am currently making a determined effort to bring about a few changes within myself.  The books I have been reading lately have been inspiring me to think about things differently.  No, they are not those so-called 'self-help' books.  Despite the inevitable setbacks along the way, I do feel I am making progress and I am aware of a growing sense of mild excitement.  The books that are helping me are by the late Dolores Cannon.  I have read three of her books so far and I plan to tackle the rest of them in the near future.  I purposely used the word 'tackle' because they are not what one might call light and fluffy easy reading.  At least not for me.  Her books are like textbooks packed with a type of knowledge I have to work very hard at trying to understand, knowing full well that much of what I read is way beyond my grasp.  However, I strongly feel I am at last headed in the right direction.

 SNUZZLES

With this recent snap of cold weather our front yard bird feeders have been working overtime.  I may have to get a part-time job just to buy more bird feed.  I had made another front yard bird feeder video this afternoon but when I went to upload the 6-minute vid Picassa said it was too big.  Oh well, back to the drawing board I go again.

GROANER'S CORNER:((     A man and woman were having marriage problems and decided to end their union after a very short time together. After a most brief attempt to reconcile, the couple went to court to finalize their break-up.  The judge asked the husband, “What has brought you to this point, where you are not able to keep this marriage together?”  The husband said, “In the six weeks we've been together, we haven't been able to agree on one thing.”  The wife said, “Seven weeks.”

My wife said she'd like to have another baby...I agreed. The one we have is starting to annoy me.

Tom had never been on a fishing boat before, and he was now thinking it was the stupidest thing he'd ever done in his life. Who would ever have believed that seasickness could be this awful? With every pitch and roll, Tom wondered how he was going to survive the remaining two hours of the trip.  One of the deckhands came up to him and said, "Don't worry, young fella. Nobody ever died of seasickness."    "You've just taken away my last hope for relief," Tom said.

  1. Started out at 17F this morning down here in the middle of Texas, so you're not alone in the temps, but we had bright sun all day and it is to be 68 tomorrow. Still, I'd enjoy a bit of cold if it brought snow. As you admitted yesterday, it IS pretty. Thanks as usual for the good photos and your writing....

  2. "A growing sense of mild excitement" eh? That's an intriguing hint!
