NOT TO WORRY, I CAME OUT OF IT WITHOUT A SCRATCH

ALL AUTUMN LEAF PICS WERE TAKEN IN NEIGHBOR MONICA'S YARD THIS AFTERNOON
With Kelly being under quarantine since returning from the States I have been designated the grocery go-getter guy.  So, after our morning walk, Pheebs and I headed for Goderich under cloudy skies to get us some groceraries.  While in Goderich I picked up another coffee to go at Macdonalds to add to Kelly's growing stack of coffee cups which I had a picture of in yesterday's post.

A short spin down around the harbor showed me there was work going on out at Rotary Cove's dog walking area.  I suspect that work may involve the stabilizing of the bank along there.  Great chunks of shoreline earth have fallen into Lake Huron these past couple of years.

I THINK THIS MAY BE MORE BANK RESTORATION WORK

While at Walmart I picked up a set of wireless blue tooth headphones.  While in Spencerport Kelly bought me a new Kindle Paper White reader which has audio capabilities.  Many online audiobooks now come with sound which means instead of me reading the book, the Kindle can read the book to me.  I've never tried this before so I'm anxious to see if I like it.  It would be a relief for these aging eyes of mine and the amount of reading I do.

PHEEBS HAS BEEN KEEPING A CLOSE EYE ON KELLY EVERY TIME SHE GOES OUT THE DOOR.....SHE'S MAKING SURE KELLY DOESN'T DISAPPEAR FOR A FEW MONTHS AGAIN
Also while in Spencerport, Kelly came across a hat her Dad had bought a bunch of years ago.  Apparently, there was a lumberyard in the Spencerport NY area called the Knapp & Schlappi Lumber Co. Inc.  Kelly's maiden name is Knapp so her dad either bought the Knapp & Schlappi hat or they gave him the hat.  Likely the latter.  I don't think he ever wore the hat because it is like new.  So, I'm happy to say the hat has now found a new home.....on my head:))

 REFLECTIONS IN MONICA'S WINDOW
As I have mentioned before in my blog, I have not had a commercial haircut since meeting Kelly in the summer of 1993.  Kelly has been cutting my hair ever since then but I think it was back in the Spring when she cut it last and with her away these past nearly 3 months my head turned into quite an unmanageable mess.  I had the Halloween head of hair from hell.  Thankfully, Kelly rectified that scary hair situation this morning when she plopped me down in a chair and went at my head with a sharp scissors.  Not to worry, I came out of it without a scratch.  After all, with 5 young children, Kelly had a lot of haircutting experience under her belt.  I now look like a young schoolboy with a part on the left side:))
 AUTUMN ON OUR STREET
GROANER'S CORNER:((
Four Jewish brothers left home for college, and eventually, they became successful doctors and lawyers -- and prospered.  Some years later, they chatted after having dinner together. They discussed the gifts that they were able to give to their elderly mother, who lived far away in another city.  The first said, 'I had a big house built for Mama'.  The second said, I had a hundred thousand dollar theatre built in the house. The third said, 'I had my Mercedes dealer deliver her an SL 600 with a chauffeur.'  The fourth said, 'Listen to this. You know how Mama loved reading the Torah and you know she can't anymore because she can't see very well. I met this Rabbi who told me about a parrot that can recite the entire Torah. It took twenty rabbis 12 years to teach him. I had to pledge to contribute $100,000 a year for twenty years to the temple, but it was worth it. Mama just has to name the chapter and verse and the parrot will recite it.' The other brothers were impressed.  After the holidays' Mama sent out her Thank You notes.  She wrote: Milton -- The house you built is so huge, I live in only one room, but I have to clean the whole house. Thanks anyway.  Marvin -- I am too old to travel. I stay home. I have my groceries delivered, so I never use the Mercedes and the driver you hired is a Nazi. The thought was good. Thanks.  Irving -- You give me an expensive theatre with Dolby sound, it could hold 50 people, but all my friends are dead. I've lost my hearing and I'm nearly blind. I'll never use it. Thank you for the gesture just the same.  Dearest Melvin --you were the only son to have the good sense to give a little thought to your gift. The Chicken was delicious!!!

  2. I was thinking "what happened to your hair Al" in the photo of you in the cap--scrolled down and found out what happened to your hair. Emmi hates for either of us to be gone--she sympathizes with Pheebs!

  4. I seem to remember that you are both vaccinated? If that's the case, Kelly doesn't need to quarantine.
