WE NEED TO ADD A LITTLE QUIETLY SOOTHING DESERT DUST TO THE COGS

NICE TO SEE THIS MALE ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK BACK IN OUR FRONT YARD AGAIN
A nice mixture of Sun and cloud today but our temperatures are still wallowing around in the low 40F range and I am still wearing my winter gear.  If it were mid-January with this temperature we'd all be outside flopping around like a bunch of trained Seals because we would be so happy it was so mild.  Just don't figure do it:((

THIS IS THE FEMALE ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK

NO THIS IS NOT A ROSE BREASTED GROSBEAK
Just another Jeep ride around the countryside for Pheebs and I and I guess there isn't much else I can say about that.  Have to consider myself fortunate to be able to get out and about.  There are countless millions of people out there who can't.

YES WE ARE IN THE HEART OF DAIRY FARMING HERE IN SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO
THIS HEAVY ROLLER DEVICE FLATTENS OUT THE DIRT CLUMPS MAKING FOR A SMOOTH FIELD
THESE LLAMAS HAVE BEEN SHEARED OF THEIR WARM COATS
SKINNY MINNIE AND HER LITTLE PAL BLACKY THE BIRD
THE LLAMAS SHARE THIS BARN WITH A BUNCH OF WOOLY SHEEP
Spent some time in our metal shed this afternoon with a broom, dustpan, and shop vacuum cleaner sucking up all the dust and dirt off the concrete floor.  Hey, I'm getting better at using the concrete word as opposed to cement:))

A NEAT OLD CAR IN OUR NEIGHBOR'S YARD SUNDAY

 OUR FERNS CONTINUE TO UNFURL
EVENING SHADOWS ON OUR FROG POND
Kelly sent a couple Mother's Day photos from Spencerport Sunday.  First photo Kelly is with her Mom and sister Cathy.  Second photo with her Mom and brother Peter.

If it was warmer I would probably be outside putting a coat of wax and polish on our Class C.  It works best if the metal and fiberglass are slightly on the warm side.  If I knew of a spot around here where Pheebs and I could boondock for a night or two I think we would seriously consider doing that.  They don't have boondocking areas (BLM land) anywhere around here like they do in America's great Southwest.  I sure hope we can get back to our beloved southwest deserts someday.  It was our second home for a bunch of winter seasons and I miss it so much.  Travel there is still doable for us but our aging body clocks are not only ticking faster now but much louder too.  We need to add a little quietly soothing desert dust to the cogs...........

I like these few lines from a book I am currently reading...."Sadly, we humans continue to be controlled by our fears--the boogeyman, demons, goblins, and the devil.  If we don't open our minds and release our ancestral dogmas, how will we ever grow and advance beyond control, greed, hatred, anger, and jealousy?  The only way humans learn is from study, research, analysis.  It's time to release our superstitious beliefs that we hold onto so tenaciously.  If humans had never ventured beyond territorial walls believing the Earth was flat or ship eating monsters resided in the oceans, where would we be today?"

I thought this song and video were particularly well done....Angel Flight

GROANER'S CORNER:((   A plane was taking off from Kennedy Airport. After it reached a comfortable cruising altitude, the captain made an announcement over the intercom, "Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking.  Welcome to Flight Number 293, non-stop from New York to Los Angeles. The weather ahead is good and, therefore, we should have a smooth and uneventful flight. Now sit back and relax - OH, MY GOD!" Silence followed, and after a few minutes the captain came back on the intercom and said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, I am so sorry if I scared you earlier; but, while I was talking, the flight attendant brought me a cup of coffee and spilled the hot coffee in my lap. You should see the front of my pants!"  A passenger in Coach shouted out, "That's nothing. He should see the back of mine!!"

After a young couple brought their new baby home, the wife suggested that her husband should try his hand at changing diapers.  "I'm busy," he said, "I'll do the next one."  The next time came around and she asked again. The husband looked puzzled, "Oh! I didn't mean the next diaper. I meant the next baby...!"

  4. As usual, photos I have liked to look at. Have just read a piece in a magazine I think you might be interested in: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2021/05/10/how-the-pentagon-started-taking-ufos-seriously
I suspect it is behind a paywall, but if so, I can email it to you if you like. I think you have access to my email...it's a gmail account I rarely use, so I'll have to remember to check it. So if you want to read, reply to my comment and I'll check my account. Otherwise, I can just brazen it out and post my usual email here. Not scared of doing that. I found the piece very interesting! The writer interview Kean and many others, as well as de-bunkers.

  5. Unfortunately our Crown Land free camping spots are off limits during the current lock down. We have several really nice crown spots not far from us that seem to be very popular.

  6. Love, love your bird photos... such detail! It would be great if you'd take a short trip but be sure to write down directions and go over and over them. Remember.... Kelly isn't there to guide you! :)

  7. I have every expectation that the border will be open by the time you would normally leave for the SW. Hang in there!

  8. Lovely and sharp (resolution) photos of the birds! Is Blogger downsizing (pixels) your photos or are you uploading them in original size? As to boon docking in the area, maybe a farmer would permit you to stay on his land and so it would be permissible. Like Gorge used to do.

    1. I always click the X-Large button in Blogger to size my pics but yes I do load them in original size with no downsizing. I think the farm George and Susie sometimes stayed at near Punky-Doodles corner might have been her brothers place. Not sure.
