SAD AND DISAPPOINTED TO SEE OUR PARK'S PINE TREE TRAIL BEING DESTROYED

 NEIGHBOR MONICA'S BEAUTIFUL MAGNOLIA TREE
Cloudy start to the day but skies partially cleared by 9 a.m. so the day was salvageable.  We traveled one of our shorter routine routes southeast of Bayfield, snapped a few pics, and were home again shortly after 10.

SPRING IS THE TIME FOR GRADING COUNTRY ROADS
NICE TO HAVE ALL THE RUTS AND BUMPS IRONED OUT AFTER WINTER'S HARSH WAYS
THESE OLD WILLOW TREES ALONGSIDE A CREEK ARE BURSTING FORTH IN ALL THEIR SPRING FINERY

THIS BIG FARM MOSSMAGATOR ROLLED IN JUST BEHIND WHERE PHEEBS AND I WERE PARKED
I'M SURE THERE'S A NAME FOR THAT PIECE OF MACHINERY BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS
HOLY SMOKES LOOK AT ALL THOSE BIG WHEELS ON THAT 10 WHEEL TRACTOR
THE FARMER EITHER PRESSES A BUTTON OR PULLS A LEAVER TO UNFOLD THAT ??
 AND AWAY HE GOES LICKITY-SPLIT
I think the last time we put gas into our little Class C Motorhome was back in late October of last year.  The gauge was down to a quarter full so figured it was time to slip out and top up the tank a bit.  With Pheebs riding shotgun we headed for Clinton and stopped into the north end Shell station.  With that little task complete we headed home again and that was that.

 SO REGAL
 THE DANDELION AIRPLANE
I had noticed lately that work seemed to have slowed down on Bayfield's new highway 21 bridge.  I thought they would have been busy erecting the new steel spans by now.  But I heard a few days ago there is a problem with the steel beams being incorrectly made.  The beam spans apparently were made in Italy and new beams have to be sent by boat.  Don't know if any of that is true or not but for a delay it sounds reasonable.

THAT GRAY SPAN IS THE TEMPORARY BAILEY BRIDGE
THE BRIDGE ARCHES AS SEEN FROM BAYFIELD'S RIVER HARBOR
'IF' THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE STEEL SPANS I'M GUESSING IT MAY BE THESE
Very disappointing on our afternoon walk in the Park here to see the entrance to our beloved Pine Tree trail being torn to pieces.  This forest tunnel-like section was the last and nicest part of the trails that once ran through the Pine forest here.  For over 18 years we walked this trail and I always carried clippers with me to trim back branches from encroaching on the trail.  Oh how I wish we would have found a quiet little country property when we had the chance years ago.  With the forest being torn down and more people moving into the Park I am not a happy camper here anymore.  Where's that 'FOR SALE' sign we've been keeping around here!!!!

SO SAD AND DISAPPOINTED TO SEE THIS TODAY
Took a few pics over at Deer Park Lodge a couple evenings ago.  Kelly worked here for 10 years after we moved to this area in late 2002.  For most of those years, she was Deer Park's manager, and guests, staff, and the Park owner just loved her so much for the fine job she did in holding it all together through those years.

THIS QUAINT LITTLE COTTAGE IS CALLED 'THE HUTCH' AND IT IS WHERE KELLY'S MOM AND DAD WOULD STAY WHEN THEY CAME TO VISIT US FROM THE STATES
THE FIREPIT
I CAN STILL SEE KELLY'S DAD SITTING HERE  LOOKING OUT OVER THE BLUE GREEN WATERS OF LAKE HURON
MY AUNT JEAN ONCE STAYED HERE FOR A FEW DAYS IN THAT LOWER UNIT

Kidnappers are not very interested in you.
In a hostage situation, you are likely to be released first.
No one expects you to run into a burning building.
People no longer view you as a hypochondriac.
There is nothing left to learn the hard way.
Things you buy now won't wear out.
You can eat dinner at 4 PM.
You can live without sex but not without glasses.
You enjoy hearing arguments about pension plans.
You have a party and the neighbors don't even realize it.
You no longer think of speed limits as a challenge.
You quit trying to hold your stomach in, no matter who walks into the room.
You sing along with elevator music.
Your eyes won't get much worse.
Your investment in health insurance is finally beginning to pay off.
Your joints are a more accurate meteorologist than the national weather service.
Your secrets are safe with your friends because they can’t remember them either.
Your supply of brain cells is finally down to manageable size.

Michigan Lawyer: "Well Barney, so you want me to defend you? Have you got any money?"
Barney: "No sir. I ain't got no money, but I do have a 1928 Ford Car!"
Lawyer: "Well you can raise money on that. Now let's see, just what do they accuse you of stealing?"
Barney: "A 1928 Ford Car."

  2. It's amazing how you guys are totally green, everything leafed, flowers blooming! We have no leaves, the grass is sort of starting to green up but it looks like winter here! I'm sorry your park is changing, it's been such a great place for you and Kelly all these years.
