EYE PROBLEM APPOINTMENT AND A SWAMPY MORNING WALK

WE CAME ACROSS THIS REPOSING FRANKENSTEIN SWAMP MONSTER...WE TIP-TOED QUIETLY BY
It wasn't that long ago I was complaining about daily winds continuously driving cold air temperatures down making for cold uncomfortable days.  Thanks to that same wind it kept this morning's hotter temperature under control and made for a comfortable walk in the Hullett Marsh.  I had to be in Clinton at 10 a.m. anyway so it was only a short mile or two over to the Marsh.

I WONDER WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THIS....BEAVER??
ODD SHAPES IN THE THIS PART OF THE SWAMP

 PAINTED TURTLE
I was at the Huron Optometric Center on time and my appointment didn't take long.  Dr. Weaver, upon entering the room right away said, "I can see your eyelid has turned under".  Minutes later after examining my right eye closer he said, "we have to get this fixed."  So, he is going to make the arrangements for me to see a surgeon.  He said it is a minor surgery and the sooner I get that eyelid from rubbing on my eyeball the better.  The eye condition I have is called Entropian.

DID YOU SEE THE LITTLE TURTLE??

Pheebs and I were home shortly before noon and not feeling up to par I never went out of the house for the rest of the day.  And that was it.

GROANER'S CORNER:((  The Iranian Ambassador to the UN had just finished giving a speech, and walked out into the lobby where he met President Bush.  They shook hands, and as they walked the Iranian said, "You know, I have just one question about what I have seen in America."  President Bush said, "Well, anything I can do to help you, I will."  The Iranian whispered, "My son watches this show called 'Star Trek' and in it there is Chekhov, who is Russian, Scotty, who is Scottish, and Sulu, who is Chinese, but no Arabs. My son is very upset and doesn't understand why there aren't any Iranians on Star Trek."  President Bush laughed, leaned toward the Iranian ambassador, and whispered back, "That's because it takes place in the future.

How do sailors get their clothes clean?
They throw them overboard and then they are washed ashore.

  1. Thank you for the eye trouble explanation. That was totally new to me and important I think.

  2. Isn't it great? The older we get, the more we find out about what can go wrong with the bodies that have served us so well. So the eyelid problem. Also I have heard of eyelashes starting to grown inward. Does this sound like a plot, or what!!
Well, we just go with what we've got, and today you have some good photos.
I actually want to go to that marsh....trying not to imagine mosquitos. But since you didn't mention them...

  3. Not fair how, as we age, body parts that have behaved for so long suddenly start misbehaving! Then we get one in line, and another one acts up. Makes us tired. At least this latest one for you is fixable. LOVE the swamp monster. So easy to recognize after you point him out. I wonder if you see these things before you take the picture, or afterward when you are editing???

    1. It happens both ways but mostly I see the image first then take the pic. With Franky the swamp monster, I saw him right away when I looked in that direction.

  4. It is a minor surgery but your ye will likely turn red and blur and swell up. You won't be driving for a few days but good to get it fixed.

  5. Al I've read your blog for many years.
You covered several health issues that has helped us. This time I understand this eye issue as last month I was diagnosed with it in both eyes on lower lashes. Surgery planned for this summer. Not looking forward to it but better then having the discomfort.
Need to let you know your photography is wonderful and love the greenery.
I'm in Tucson and a former RVer, sure miss spending summers in those green places.
