SOMEBODY'S BIRTHDAY AT OUR HOUSE TUESDAY

A PAIR OF MALLARD DUCKS ON OUR PARK'S POND
We dipped below freezing overnight so it was a cold start to the day.  Just to be on the safe side I turned the outside water off and removed the hose nozzles from the garden hoses.  Our bird-bath had a skiff of ice on it but with our front yard pond pump running now there was no ice on the frog pond.  A few light dustings of snow here and there.  Due to the heavy overcast I only took a couple of photos this morning.  However, within one minute of getting home sunshine broke through the clouds, and by noon we had clear blue skies overhead again.

PHEEBS AND I MANAGED A COLD MORNING'S WALK ALONG THIS MUDDY DEAD-END ROAD
SKIFFS OF SNOW HERE AND THERE
Unlike Sunday inside, I spent the majority of my Monday afternoon outside doing a lot of yardwork.  Dressed warm, I cleaned up all my little forest paths plus the edges of the two roadways running past our place.  Raked up five wheelbarrow loads of last Autumn's pine needles.  Unlike Sunday, today was a productive day and I was quite satisfied with that.

OUR CROCUS FLOWERS ARE STILL BLOOMING
HOW NICE TO SEE CHIPMUNKS SCAMPERING AROUND OUR YARD AGAIN
 CLEANING UP MY PATHWAYS
GURGLING WATER IN OUR FRONT YARD FROG POND AGAIN
An afternoon walk took us around the Park's pond where we saw a pair of Mallard Ducks and a lone Canada Goose.  No frogs, turtles, muskrats, or Nile crocodiles yet.

Somebody has a birthday at our house Tuesday and it's not me or Pheebs.  Hmmmm, with only three of us here I wonder who it could be:))

 BACKYARD YUCCA PLANT
GROANER'S CORNER:((  An old man visits his doctor and after a thorough examination the doctor tells him: "I have good news and bad news, what would you like to hear first?"  Patient: "Well, give me the bad news first."  Doctor: "You have cancer, I estimate that you have about two years left."  Patient: "OH NO! That's awful! In two years my life will be over! What kind of good news could you tell me after this???"  Doctor: "You also have Alzheimer's. In about three months from now, you are going to forget everything I told you."

For the first time in many years, an old man traveled from his rural town to the city to attend a movie. After buying his ticket, he stopped at the concession stand to purchase some popcorn.  Handing the attendant $1.50, he couldn't help but comment, "The last time I came to the movies, popcorn was only 15 cents."  "Well, sir," the attendant replied with a grin, "You're really going to enjoy yourself. We have sound now.."
