GOING TO HAVE TO RE-DOUBLE MY EFFORTS TO GET MYSELF BACK ON THE COMPLAINT LIST

PHEEBS OUT PLOWING SNOW THIS MORNING
Well, at least our snowfall finally stopped and we were back to a normal grey January day.  No farmer's fields visible anywhere with everything being under a foot or more of snow.  It was a rather lackluster Jeep ride through the countryside south, east, and west, of Clinton Ontario but we did manage to find a few photos along the way.

Finished shoveling the rest of the driveway so now Kelly can get her Pontiac Sunfire in and out.  If nothing else, at least shoveling snow is good upper body exercise, and at this time of year in this winter climate that is a plus.

 GOT A COLD PAW DAD
Both Pheebs and I snoozed the afternoon away so we didn't get out for a walk.  We'll try again tomorrow.

Thought I would have been as stiff as board this morning when I woke up after shoveling all that snow these past couple of days.  Amazingly enough, I didn't have a single 'ouchy' I could roundly complain about.  That not being normal at this age I am undoubtedly going to have to re-double my snow shoveling efforts in order to get myself back on that complaint list!!
MAYBE THIS GUY WOULD GIVE A COUPLE BUCKS TO SHOVEL OFF HIS RUNWAY AND BRUSH THE SNOW OF HIS AIRPLANE
THIS OLD FARM DOG MUST BE OVER A HUNDRED YEARS OLD AND I ALWAYS WATCH FOR HIM TO BE LAYING BESIDE THE ROAD IN WINTER, SUMMER, SPRING, OR FALL

THIS SCOTTISH HIGHLAND CATTLE GANG LOVES THIS COLD WEATHER
LOOKS LIKE THIS FARMER'S WINTER PROJECT IS TO LOG OUT HIS BUSH
SEEN A NUMBER OF SNOWMOBILES ON THE BACKROADS TODAY

SOME FOLKS ARE STILL DIGGING OUT FROM FRIDAY'S SNOWSTORM
Stepping out with Pheebs shortly before publishing the blog tonight I looked up through the tall pine trees and saw a whole host of stars overhead.  It's been a while since I last saw a clear starry sky and I'm hoping it will stay that way and let Old Sol flood us with cheery sunshine tomorrow:))

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Have you heard about 4-year-old Sammy who was asked to return thanks before Sunday dinner? The family members bowed their heads in expectation, and he began his prayer:  "Thank you God for all my friends: Joey, an' Susan, an' Billy, an' Tommy," and on and on he went, naming each friend one by one.  Next he thanked God for Mommy, Daddy, brother, sister, Grandma, Grandpa, and all his aunts and uncles.  Finally he got to the food.  "Thank you God for the turkey, an' the dressing, an' the fruit salad, an' the pies, an' the Cool Whip..."  And then he paused.  The pause was almost deafening, and all eyes were focused on young Sammy with his head still bowed in prayer.  Finally (almost when Father was about to interject an "Amen"), Sammy looked up at his mother and asked, "If I thank God for the broccoli, won't he know that I'm lying?"

Sue: My uncle is an umpire in a restaurant.  Lou: In a restaurant?  Sue: Yes. When someone orders pancakes, he yells, “Batter up!”

On a rural road, a state trooper pulled this farmer over and said: "Sir, do you realize your wife fell out of the car several miles back?"  To which the farmer replied: "Thank God, I thought I had gone deaf!"

  5. Great cartoons Al. The sun is important to our psychic in the winter months. Even out here. Pheebs has a cold paw and Yuma has a thorn. Never happy 😊

  6. Al - Since you like to read, I wanted to share one of the best books I was given by an medical doctor here in Arizona. It's titled "End Your Carb Confusion" by Eric C. Westman, MD with Amy Berger, CNS. My husband is a very serious brittle Diabetic. NOTHING has ever helped him because he LOVES his food and sodas. For years he was told to watch his sugar intake. He is not a reader at all unless it has to do with Mechanics. I've known for years that diabetes and Insulin Resistance are TWO VERY DIFFERENT THINGS. And I have stopped many of the best diabetic specialists in their tracks with a comment or two regarding the diabetic topics. So, a couple weeks ago my husband's doctor shared this book with me, and he asked me to read it because he "thought" me reading this book would give way for me to better help my husband. I managed to the first 24 pages and was excited to share some of the knowledge with the husband. I kept going, and today is day 3 of reading this book. The husband got up this morning and told me "I do believe you and the new doctor are correct". I asked him what he was referring to, and he told me has been reading this new book after I go to bed at night. THE RAT! Anyways, he told me for the first time in 25 years, he feels very comfortable stating he is NOT a diabetic but rather insulin resistant, and he looked me straight in the face and said "HELP ME STOP THE INSULIN NIGHTMARE". Today, I went to the store and I purchased all foods and ingredients that will LOWER the insulin levels in both of us. I did ask my husband what opened his eyes and he told me this book the doctor gave you, and the fact what you made for dinner last night did not raise my blood sugar over 180!!!!! Most times, he is 300 to 400. He told me if every patient was given this book the moment their A1C was elevated, they would never become labeled as a "diabetic". So, I encourage you to read this book, it is one of the best.
