OKAY, SO WHERE'S THAT 'WONDERFUL', 'WALKABOUT', 'BECAUSE WE CAN', WORLD??


Expecting to see snow on the ground this morning we were surprised when checking our on-line live radar feed to see the snow had gone and was still going on south of us through Sarnia/Port Huron, Windsor/Detroit, Chatham, London, Hamilton, and Buffalo.  However, I suspect Sunday morning might be our turn for the cold white stuff.

Icy cold north wind blowing on our Jeep ride earlier today so with Pheebs window down we had to keep the heater cranked up.  Twice we stopped to get out and twice we quickly clambered back into the Jeep again.  Well at least I did anyway.

Home around ten I didn't even think at first of going outside to work on a few projects but as the day slowly warmed up a tad I hauled out my ladder and switched the finch feeder back to its original location.  I remembered a reader suggesting I spray the birdhouse roof with WD-40 to keep the Squirrels off it.  I did that and so far I have not seen a Squirrel attempt to get at the feeder.  Fired up my whipper-snipper while outside and went after a few weeds as well.  Of course I did find time for some reading and relaxing too.  Don't know why I have been doing so much relaxing lately because it seems I haven't been working hard enough at anything to relax from.  Guess I'm still trying to adjust to the fact I am not exactly 16 anymore.  Not an easy mental adjustment for some of us I can tell you.

Our afternoon walk was again cut short when for the second time in two days I misjudged the icy cold blustering wind ripping down from the North.  Weather people are using the words 'Polar Vortex' and they might just be right.  We did see a few errant flakes of snow shortly before noon.
Have decided to make a conscious effort to stay away from Covid-19 topics.  Made that decision about politics and religion when I started writing this blog many years ago and I'm finding this whole Covid thing running along the same lines to be of a similarly controversial nature.  It has a tendency to throw up angry walls between people.  I don't like living like that so I am not going to write about that.  I am sincerely hoping this will be my last word on the subject.

Okay, so where's that 'wonderful' 'walkabout' 'because we can' world the late George Yates always talked about?  It's got to be out there somewhere because George lived in it.  I'm going to go out and see if I can find me a piece of that world:))

  4. No spam here either...I am so grateful for your posting philosophy. And it is too bad that things get so polarized, even something like a communicable virus that makes people sick. But here we are. And there you are with your great photos and a VERY appealing dog. I do love the photos when she looks blissful....Thanks.

  5. No spam for us. I really down;t like those turkey vultures, we see them l the time o the beach in Mexico and it is not pretty. On the plus side they do clean up the beach.
