NO PROBLEM FOR WE TWO SLOW THINKING BUT FAST TALKING SENIORS

A PATCH OF MORNING SUNLIGHT
Richard popped over this morning about 10 after Pheebs and I had made a Jeep run around Bayfield.  Not able to do our usual country road coffee tours due to this Covid safe distancing thingy we took ourselves for an hour walk through the bush here at our Park.  We even managed to jump a creek without getting any soakers.  Of course with all this Covid stuff going on we do have to fit in a lot more talk time along with our worldly woes discussions.  It's a full schedule we have but it's no problem for we two slow thinking but fast-talking Seniors.  Back to the house after an intrepid walk through the woods we wrapped up our morning with coffee and chocolate chip cookies Kelly had whipped up.

WE LIFTED THE PROTECTIVE WINTER COVER OFF OUR AIR CONDITIONER  TODAY....NOW HOW'S THAT FOR BEING POSITIVE ABOUT WARMER DAYS AHEAD
Got myself too involved with my electric roto-tiller this afternoon and wore myself out.   Didn't have enough energy left after that little episode to drive myself to Goderich's Dynacare blood clinic for my blood tests.  When Pheebs and I are out and about in the morning I will make that one of my priority stops.

Bright sunny day again but our air is still cold at 45F.  We should be up into the low 60's by this time in May but it's not going to happen this year.  We might get into the 50's next week.  Biggest advantage of this cooler weather is no bugs and of course, no humidity.  And that's a mighty big bonus for me.

Our Canadian Tire Store in Goderich is open now and it's business as usual.  I was in there to buy a couple light bulbs Tuesday and one wouldn't even know there was any Covid thing going on.  No directional arrows on the floor, nobody wearing masks, no security people or line-ups.  Our garden centers are open now as well and Provincial Parks are re-opening for day use.  Noticed gasoline prices slowly rising again too.

GROANER'S CORNER:((  A fire started on some grasslands near a farm. The county fire department was called to put out the fire. The fire was more than the county fire department could handle. Someone suggested that a nearby volunteer bunch be called. Despite some doubt that the volunteer outfit would be of any assistance, the call was made.  The volunteers arrived in a dilapidated old fire truck. They rumbled straight towards the fire, drove right into the middle of the flames and stopped! The firemen jumped off the truck and frantically started spraying water in all directions. Soon they had snuffed out the center of the fire, breaking the blaze into two easily-controlled parts.  Watching all this, the farmer was so impressed with the volunteer fire department's work and was so grateful that his farm had been spared, that right there on the spot he presented the volunteers with a check for $1,000. A local news reporter asked the volunteer fire captain what the department planned to do with the funds.  "That ought to be obvious," he responded, wiping ashes off his coat. "The first thing we're gonna do is get the brakes fixed on our fire truck!"

  1. I was in the Pembroke Cdn. Tire today. I felt like a rat in a maze.

  2. Lol... apparently you can't wait until things warm up... so that you can put your air conditioner on!

  3. I haven't done the Cdn. Tire thing. No need. Hadn't needed to put fuel in the car since way back in March I think it was, and now the prices are going back up again! *grumble*

  4. Do you ever have deer eating your hostas? I sure do and we live in the city. So frustrating.
