I GUESS WE RESIDENTS WILL OF COURSE BE THE LAST TO KNOW

MALE ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK IN ONE OF OUR CEDAR TREES
No rain today but Monday's high winds were still blowing hard and bringing down a few small tree branches this morning.  I think we got up to around 70F today but our wind chill factor made it feel like the mid 50's to me at times.  It was fine for working around outside though.

BEFORE PHEEBS AND I LEFT THIS MORNING WE TOOK A DRIVE DOWN AROUND OUR PARK'S RECYCLING AREA WHERE I HAD TO DROP THE JEEP INTO 4 WHEEL DRIVE TO SLIP SLIDE OUR WAY THROUGH THIS MUDDY MESS
Pheebs and I launched ourselves out of the Park under cloudy skies again today and our travels took us up north of Clinton a few miles.  Tried to keep my photos down to a dull roar for a change and just kinda sat myself back and let Mother's Nature's beautiful Spring scenery slide on by the window.  Angled ourselves over Goderich way, picked up some gas and headed home.
RECENT RAINS HAVE LEFT AREA RIVERS AND CREEKS SWOLLEN AND HERE THE MAITLAND RIVER IS NEARLY OVER IT'S BANKS

Kelly busied herself outside this afternoon potting and planting a number of flowers she brought home late last week.  I worked away on my little grass-re-seeding project for a while before heading in for a short re-energizing snooze prior to taking Pheebs for a walk on what's left of the Pine tree trail later in the afternoon.

On her walk this morning Kelly had noticed a lot of earth moving going on down around our Park's recycling yard so being the curious two that we are Pheebs and headed through the forest to see what we could see.  Well, I heard what we couldn't see before we ever did get to seeing anything.  I could hear a machine growling and clanking in a section of forest I don't think any big machine had ever been before.  Imagine my surprise walking the trail when I came to a spot where there was no trail anymore.  It was simply gone and in it's place a big bulldozer was busy dozing in a whole new road.  In fact the dozer had plowed a road right through the center of the forest and linked it with another existing road in the Park that up until today had always been a dead end.  'Holy Smoley' I thought to myself, what the heck is going on here and what are all these 'new road' changes leading up to??  I guess we residents will of course be the last to know.
LESS THAN A WEEK AGO A QUIET FOREST PATH MEANDERED THROUGH THE FOREST ALONG HERE

AND WHERE THERE WAS ONCE A NICE SECTION OF FOREST NOW THERE IS THIS
A COUPLE DAYS AGO THIS WAS A FOREST AND NOW IT'S A NEW BULLDOZED ROAD
THAT HOUSE ON THE RIGHT WAS ONCE THE LAST HOUSE ON THIS DEAD END ROAD BUT NOW THE ROAD HAS PUNCHED IT'S WAY THROUGH THE FOREST BEHIND PHEEBS
I CAN ONLY WONDER HOW LONG THIS NICE GRASSY AREA IN OUR PARK WILL LAST??
GROANER'S CORNER:(( Mrs. Perkins was shopping at a produce stand in her neighborhood. She approached the vendor and asked, "How much are these oranges?""Two for a quarter," answered the vendor."How much is just one?" she asked."Fifteen cents," answered the vendor."Then I'll take the other one," said Mrs. Perkins.

If the musical group 'Village People' had included a garbage man, they would have been the Swillage People. Their music was trashy anyway.

  1. It was tooo long. Sorry about your forest. Progress hell. . . . It's all about money & whoever is making it lives nowhere near there. They don't care.

    1. I previously commented and deleted it as it was too long. Your posts are never too long, Al.

  2. It would cost them less to develop farm land and they could leave the trees to clean the air and leave Natures's Sanctuary.

    It's about time.

  4. Love the roses-breasted grosbeaks...they stopped by our house for a few weeks before heading your way! Kelly’s flowers are so pretty!
