AND IT EVEN HAS A HOLE IN THE ROOF

HOLY SMOKES I CAN LOOK RIGHT UP AND SEE THE BIG BLUE SKY NOW
I have found our already heavy utility trailer gets heavier every year and it's more of a struggle for me each time to hitch it up.  Of course the trailer isn't getting heavier but I am getting older.  How many times I've thought, wished we had a small pick-up truck to load yard waste into.  Couple that with wanting a second 4 wheel drive winter vehicle' with practical carrying abilities and half a dozen other attributes.  Having had 6 pick-up trucks (3 small & 3 full size) over the years I had taken a big liking to Ford's intermediate Explorer models.  Ford quit making them in 2010 and I was surprised when I saw a 2004 for sale at a very reasonable price in Clinton Ontario.  By coincidence the seller was the husband of a lady who was my supervisor when I drove a mobility van part time for a company in Clinton a few years back.
YUP IT'S A HOLE IN THE ROOF ALRIGHT
Brought the Ford Explorer Sports Trac home and our plan is to transition Kelly from the Sunfire to the Jeep with Pheebs and I taking over the Explorer.  We'll see how that works out for us and what adjustments we may have to make.  We plan to sell our 2004 Pontiac Sunfire and most likely our utility trailer too.
STOPPED ON A COUNTRY ROAD COMING HOME TO CHECK A FEW THINGS OUT....NOTICE THE ICY ROAD
I'VE ALWAYS LIKED THESE WHITE FACED DASH DISPLAY PANELS
THIS GRAY DASH IS NEEDING SOME COLOR SO I MIGHT HAVE TO GET MY ACME PAINT SET OUT
LEATHER SEATS AND APPARENTLY THE FRONT ONES ARE HEATED
WITH A BIT OF TWEAKING I DISCOVERED IT HAS A GOOD SOUND SYSTEM....FOUR WHEEL DRIVE BUTTON TOP LEFT AND REAR CAB WINDOW UP AND DOWN BUTTON TOP RIGHT
THE LITTLE SPORTS TRAC IS AT IT'S NEW HOME
Looking out our window early this morning it was nice to see clear skies had stayed with us overnight.  Headed out with Kelly in the Jeep instead of Pheebs.  'What'!!  We had bought a little Ford Explorer Sports Trac and we were off to Clinton to pick it up.  Ownership transfer went off without a hitch and it wasn't long before I headed back to Bayfield with the truck and Kelly headed into Clinton with the Jeep to check out a few stores.  Stopped on a country road on the way back to take a few pics and see how it handled on a slippery snow covered road.  Everything checked out fine including the truck's four wheel drive.  It goes to the Bayfield Garage Thursday morning for a safety check and tune-up.  We will also get it undercoated as soon as possible too.  Has a few rusty spots.
NICE BIG WINDOWS FOR TAKING PHOTOS OUT OF
I HAVE HAD MY EYE ON THESE FORD EXPLORERS FOR YEARS NOW
AND PHEEBS LIKES IT TOO
Looks like we have a fast moving 'Alberta Clipper heading our way beginning tonight so it's anybody's guess what we will wake up to in the morning.  With temps predicted to be in the mid 40's by Friday our volatile winter weather system is swinging wildly.  Our weather site posted a 'Snow Squall Warning' this afternoon.  We lost our sunshine shortly after noon.
::AnArchive Post:: My Dad's Car Is Nicer Than Your Dad's Car  Gary, the other fellow in this story and myself lived on the same street in Tavistock Ontario many Moons ago and after all these years with each one of us moving to many different places we now live only a couple short streets away from each other.  Oh, and by the way, Gary's driving a Ford now and as of today......so am I:))
::Al's Musical Favs::  Just Breathe by Telepopmusik.  Loved this breezy little number right from the first time I heard it on TV years ago as a Mitsubishi commercial.  Crank up your stereo's base and let the groovy tune's bass line rattle your windows.  I love when that happens:))
OUR FRONT YARD BIRD BATH PATIENTLY AWAITS THE ARRIVAL OF SPRING SONGBIRDS
GROANER'S CORNER:(( After the church service a little boy told the pastor, "When I grow up, I'm going to give you some money."  "Well, thank you," the pastor replied, "but why?"  "Because my daddy says you're one of the poorest preachers we've ever had."

A little boy was attending his first wedding. After the service, his cousin asked him, "How many women can a man marry?" "Sixteen," the boy responded. His cousin was amazed that he knew the answer so quickly. "How do you know that?" "Easy," the little boy said. "All you have to do is add it up, like the Preacher said: 4 better, 4 worse, 4 richer, 4 poorer."

  2. That's a beautiful truck Al. Dolly and I drive a Ford F150 at home and love the Convenience they offer. So you used the ole "getting too old" trick to convince Kelly you needed a truck.

  6. Wasn't expecting that! Hope you enjoy it! When my little old utility trailer got to heavy to lift easily I bought a very small cheap jack that would lift the tongue of the trailer 3-4" and it worked great.
