A LOOK BACK AT MY BIG 'HOWDY DOODY' WAVE

Patrick in our Shout Box recently asked. 'Why did you change your toad from a Jeep Wrangler and get a Jeep Liberty??'  Well, we had several reason for switching from a Wrangler to a Liberty with two of the biggest reasons being more interior space in the Liberty and a much softer ride with the longer wheelbase.  The Wrangler didn't have air conditioning or power windows and at this latter stage of the age game A/C was a must and power windows make it a lot easier for me to put Pheebs window up or down without having to stretch my self low down across the passenger seat to reach the window crank handle.  Freaked out drivers coming the other way when they couldn't see anyone in the Jeep's driver's seat.  I like both the Jeep Wrangler and Liberty but they have a common fault.  Poor gas mileage:((

A FEW VESTIGES OF THE 2019 CHRISTMAS SEASON REMAIN
A sunny start to our day but it only lasted a couple hours and we were socked in under a heavy cloud cover again.  Boogers and I did manage a short walk in the Falls Reserve Conservation Area west of Ben Miller Ontario but with a stiff cold southerly wind blowing the 37F temperatures around we didn't go to far.  Skies clouded over anyway so we scurried for home having taken very few photos.  I agree, sometimes less is better.
ONLY PHOTO I TOOK IN THE FALLS RESERVE CONSERVATION AREA BEFORE TURNING MY BACK TO THE WIND AND HASTILY RETURNING TO THE JEEP

With having to dig into my photo files and Archive posts lately for my blog features I have been very disconcerted to discover many of my photos taken over the years are very dark and looking underexposed.  Now I do have a tendency to shoot a touch on the underexposed side but these photos I am coming across are waaaaaay underexposed and I can't figure out why.  I would never publish a photo as dark as what I am seeing yet there they are in my files and posts.  Luckily the original photos themselves are an easy fix but the thousands of photos already published in my posts over the years not so much.  I would have to fix the photos then republish the posts and that is just not worth it or practical.  So it is what it is but it still doesn't explain to me why so many of my older photos are so dark.
Sun reappeared about mid afternoon so it was another walk for Pheebs and I in our Park's pine forest.  Despite the damage done by loggers last year and the year before there are still a few nice areas that have not been all smashed up.  If our Park is actually sold one of these days I expect what remains of the pine forest will be replaced by housing.
::Foibles & Fumbles:: My Big Howdy Doody Wave.  Wrote this one back on July 17th 2011 when I still had my motorcycle.  Not too many foibles or fumbles I suppose but maybe I was making a bit of a foibleless fumble out of myself from time to time anyway.

GROANER'S CORNER:((  Dear Son, Your Pa has a new job. The first in 48 years. We are a little better, off now, getting $17.96 every Thursday. So we up and thought we'd do a little fixin’ up. We sent to Rosemont and Seasbuck for one of them there bathrooms you hear so much about and it took a plumber to put it in shape. On one side of the room is a great big long thing, something like the hogs drink out of, only you get in it and wash all over. Over on the other side is a little white thing called a sink, this is for light washing, like face and hands, but over in the other corner we really got something. There you put one foot in, wash it clean, pull a chain and get fresh water for the other foot. Two lids come with the darn thing and we ain't had any use for them in the bathroom, so I'm using one for a bread board and the other we framed grandmother's picture in. They were awful nice people to deal with and they sent us a roll of writing paper with it. Take care of yourself son.

  1. I like the boot print in the snow. Very creative thinking.
Pheebes looks like she's going a million miles an hour in that photo.
