NO PICTURES TO TAKE NO LEAVES TO RAKE NOT EVEN A WAKE UPON THE LAKE

Rained all day not much to say
No outside play so inside I did stay
No pictures to take no leaves to rake
Not even a wake upon the lake
Skies were gray like dark sodden hay
My mood was matched in a familiar way
With book in hand and feeling bland
Hot chocolate held firmly in my hand
I toughed out the morning and afternoon
Hoping for sunny and warm real soon
But alas I knew it wasn't to be
So down with my book I turned on the TV
Choosing a channel with sand and sea
Put on my sunglasses and joined the masses
Expelling some wind and hot air gases
Darkness came as it finally does
Turned off the TV just because
Day was done and I was too
Be back tomorrow maybe you too

::Al's Musical Favs:: Promenade With Satie by Christophe Goze.  A soothing easy going piece for a rainy day.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A police officer saw a car speeding down the highway. He started chasing after the speeder . When he got close he saw it was an elderly woman who was actually knitting while driving. The cop yelled, Pull over! The elderly lady shouted back, No! Its a sweater!

Walking by, a minister saw his 5-year-old son and playmates had found a dead Robin.  Feeling that proper burial should be performed, the children had secured a small box and cotton batting, then dug a hole and made ready for the disposal of the deceased.  The minister's son was chosen to say the appropriate prayers and with sonorous dignity intoned his version of what he thought his father always said: "Glory be unto the Faaaather, and unto the Sonnn... and into the hole he gooooes."

  6. A long time ago my dad used to say, you're a poet and don't know it, but your feet show it, their longfellows..... that's a lot funnier when you're 10 years old.
