TRYING SOME MORE BIRD PHOTOS WITH A DIFFERENT CAMERA

FEMALE CARDINAL (NIKON P900)
Brrrrr, don't know what our temperatures dropped down to overnight but we were definitely well below the freezing mark.  Although it isn't officially winter yet we certainly are in full winter mode already:((
MY ALL TIME BEST PAL

EVEN SAW A SNOWMAN THIS MORNING
For the most part paved roads were bare and dry this morning so Pheebs and I stayed on them.  A swing around the Goderich harbor, a few things at Walmart and we were home again before ten.
WITH TWO SHIPS ALREADY IN HARBOR THIS FREIGHTER ANCHORED A COUPLE MILES OFFSHORE AWAITS IT'S TURN
LAKE HURON WAVES CONTINUE TO EAT AWAY AT THE SHORELINE
CANADA STEAMSHIP LINES ASSINIBOINE AT THE SALT DOCK THIS MORNING
Again I went around shaking snow off many of our bent over shrubs and trees.  Re-shovelled some pathways and topped up the bird station with seeds plus added some more hanging feeders.  We have a rather ravenous crew out there now that they can't find food in their usual places.  Although we don't have Snow Buntings at the feeder I did see a few flocks of them in the countryside.
BLUE JAY (THIS SECTION OF BIRD PHOTOS TAKEN WITH MY NIKON D7200 AND 18-300mm LENS)
DARK-EYED JUNCO
FEMALE CARDINAL

Without sunshine our landscape didn't look quite as spectacular today but I did manage to find a few photos scattered about anyway.  Having totally overwhelmed myself these last few days with picture taking I tried to slow down today.  Well that didn't last long.
A LOT OF LEAVES HAVE FALLEN THIS PAST WEEK
SPOTTED SOME FRISKY HORSES ALONG THE WAY
With so many birds in our front yard now I'm going to have to hire an 'Air Traffic Controller'.  Dusted off my tripod and set it up in the sunroom to try my luck at some bird photos.  Below are a few of my early attempts with a new Nikon P900.
MALE CARDINAL (NOT THE  BEST PHOTO BUT I TOSSED IT IN ANYWAY)
MOURNING DOVE
DOWNY WOODPECKER
RED BELLIED WOODPECKER
HEY HOW DID THIS GUY GET IN HERE
I have attempted to add a second photo album called Winter Wonderland Day Two which covers our morning travels for Friday November 8th.  I have a feeling  I didn't get it quite right again so would appreciate knowing if the album opens.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( An angry wife to her husband on phone: "Where the hell are you?"
Husband: "Darling, you remember that jewelry shop where you saw the diamond necklace and totally fell in love with it, and I didn't have money that time, and I said 'Baby it'll be yours one day'?"
Wife, with a smile and all excited: "Yes I remember that my love!"
Husband: "Well I'm in the pub just next to that shop."

- Parents often talk about the younger generations as if they didn't have anything to do with it.

- Teacher: "Which book has helped you the most in your life?" Student: "My father's check book!"
--------------------------
A kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they drew. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's artwork. As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was. The girl replied, "I'm drawing God."  The teacher paused and said, "but no one knows what God looks like"  Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing the girl replied, "They will in a minute."

  2. Album opened. Hmmm, new P900, is there a story behind this new camera? I am looking for a travel camera, and looked at the P900. I took it off my list because the specs say it does not save a raw file format. I like raw files, because I like to play around in post processing.

  4. Yep, that's my camera. The zoom is amazing isn't it? DSLR cameras with interchangeable lenses just can't compete.

  10. Beautiful photos!! We have many of the same birds here in Northern, IL...I have a suet feeder right outside our kitchen window and we are getting the Downy and Red Bellied Woodpeckers too. It's suppose to snow 3-4" tonight, so I loaded the feeders and expect quite a few hungry birds tomorrow!
