OUR AUTUMN LEAVES ARE PEAKING

Overcast skies this morning for our Jeep ride but of course skies partially cleared after Pheebs and I were home again.  I'm thinking maybe I should sleep in till about 11 and then head out when the sun is shining.  Judging from the blaze of color this morning I'd say our area here in southwestern Ontario is peaking now.  So many yellows and golds, orange and reds.  It is truly a site to behold right here in rural farm country.
Being out of celery and bananas Pheebs and I headed off to Goderich.  A McDonald's coffee to go and we soon had ourselves down around the harbor.  Lake Huron waters were calm this morning.
THE FRONTENAC IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE SHORTEST FREIGHTERS I'VE SEEN IN THE HARBOR
I'M ANXIOUS TO SEE HOW GODERICH IS GOING TO FIX THEIR ERODING SHORELINE
THOUGHT THAT AN ODD SHAPED CRAFT WAY OUT THERE
OH SO THAT'S WHAT IT IS....DON'T THINK I'D WANT TO BE THAT GUY SITTING IN THE DIGGER
Pulled together some energy and hooked myself up to the end of my leaf rake this afternoon.  Although pine needles outnumber leaves about a hundred to one maybe I should be calling it a leafy pine needle rake.  With the aid of my fridge cart I also moved some small pine logs around.  Took the pond pump out of the front yard pond as well and am starting to get the pond ready to be partially covered over for the winter.  That idea worked well last winter and our goldfish did survive.
RED MAPLE TREES REALLY COME INTO THEIR OWN THIS TIME OF YEAR
Had we left for the southwest last Saturday we would probably now be somewhere in New Mexico or Arizona bombing around and totally happy to be there after six long exhausting days on the road.  I guess it's best I don't think about all that.
Checked our Stats again at Google Analytics today and see that the United States has taken back first place from Russia as the leader in pageview visits to my blog.  Russia is a close second and Canada as always is a far distant third.  United States -- 11,132.  Russia 10, 937.  Canada -- 3,457.
I'm doing just fine here for eats while Kelly is away for a couple weeks.  Lunch today was a meatloaf TV dinner.  Thursday night for supper I washed a piece of toast with honey down with a big bowl of porridge.  Tonight for supper I didn't bother to eat anything but I might see my way clear later to fix myself up a nice bowl of Rice Krispies with banana slices.  Thanks for those Rice Krispies Monica:))

  2. Googled my first comment only to find that I was talking about the wrong ship. No hard for a Ten Year Old to get mixed up.
Be Safe and Enjoy the beauty of the season.

  3. Beautiful colors! We lost ours to some big wind at the first of the week. 😢 Now the weather guy is using the S word and Cdn. Tire is advertising shovels on the TV.

  4. I am really enjoying your colors. Sure don’t see that where I am. (Las Vegas) my kids went to Disneyland today and it’s 97* there. Whoa, too hot for the end of October.

  5. Wonderful colors and a keen eye in the viewfinder, love how you brought in the fence and old barns to capture some interest. I was out 4 wheeling today, even in full color, our fall foliage is mostly sepia.

    1. Sepia, that is an excellent word to describe our fall colors also.

  6. I bet it's warmer here in the desert south west, but you definitely have us beat with color! ... at least for now :)

  7. Well, your mind may be missing the far Southwest, but your heart and eye have taken some great photos today of the beauty of autumn a lot more Northeast.
    Thanks.

  9. The southwest can't compete with the colors in your photos these past few weeks. All the rapid changes autumn brings are captured in these pictures. Look forward to seeing these colorful scenes gradually morph into piles of beautiful leaves at the sides of roads and lawns, and then into those stark black-and-white snow covered scenes you've brought us in the past. Perhaps not good for your psyche, but your Google numbers tell you the blog and photos bring joy to thousands of others.
