RADIATION: THREE DOWN TWO TO GO AND HERE I AM IN ALL MY MODEST NAKEDNESS

Looking back to one year ago today I see we were into the third day of our eastern Canada travels and we Traveled Further On Water Than On Land that day.  As it turned out this was the best day of our whole trip and may very well have had to do with spending less time on the highways RVing and more time on a boat enjoying new scenery while someone else called a Captain did the driving.

Another mighty fine September morning.  So glad that heat and miserable humidity is behind us now for another year.  Don't have to worry about that for another ten months or so.  Well Okay the next couple days might be touch and go but after that......'Oh Boy Oh Boy':))
Another routine morning Jeep ride with Pheebs up to Goderich and back with a few groceries and a new pair of Wrangler blue jeans thrown in to boot.  Even splurged and bought a new belt.  Some days I am such an absolute spendthrift.  I think the last pair of pants I remember buying was at the Wickenburg Arizona TSC store about five years ago. I'm hoping these jeans and belt (also from TSC) will last me another dozen years or so.  Now how's that for being optimistic about my future eh.  Now don't get me started about the realistic side of things!!

Although I had my big boy pants on today Kelly decided to come along to the London hospital's cancer clinic with me this afternoon.  And I'm glad she did.  Nice drive down and using a different route now I have eliminated two out of twenty four traffic lights.  We were at the hospital early so had time to relax after checking in.

Of course being there early they called me early and it was the same radiation machine I had a couple days ago.  The lilac room.  Treatment seemed a few minutes longer today but everything went Okay.  I bought a new belt at Goderich's TSC store this morning so when the nurses tried to pull my pants down I told them to be careful of my new belt.  Of course they don't pull my pants down and that job is left up to me.  I only have to slip them down a few inches so they can see the target markers tattooed on my lower abdomen.  Of course they always have to adjust things and my pants seem to get pulled down an extra inch in the scramble.  Kelly waited outside the control room but managed to get a few pics with her smartphone of the monitors.  While laying on the radiation table today I thought to myself, 'well I'm past the half way point in my treatment plan now'.  Only two more to go.  How fortunate I am to be on this new five day plan instead of the twenty day plan I thought I was going to be on.

KELLY TOOK THIS PHOTO WHILE I WAS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WALL GETTING 'BEAMED'
KELLY PEAKED INTO THE CONTROL ROOM AND SAID SHE COULD SEE ME ON ONE OF THE MONITORS.....ON THE OTHER MONITOR THEY WERE WATCHING SESAME STREET
YES THAT IS ACTUALLY A DIAGRAM OF ME....AND KELLY'S FINGERS

HERE I COME OUT OF THE RADIATION ROOM WITH A FOLDER TO BE GIVEN TO DOCTOR MENDEZ....I DON'T SEEM TO BE GLOWING MUCH YET
OF COURSE WE PEEKED INTO THE BINDER AND I TOOK A FEW QUICK PHOTOS OF WHAT WE SAW
YEP THAT'S ME IN ALL MY MODEST NAKEDNESS
WELL I GUESS THIS SIGN IN THE WINDOW MAKES IT OFFICAL....'THE DOCTOR IS OUT'
After the treatment I was to meet with Doctor Mendez but when we went to where he was supposed to be a sign said he was away for the day.  The lady at the desk took the blue binder I had been handed after the treatment and asked if we wanted to talk to somebody else.  Well not really so that was it and we headed for the Jeep.  A quick stop at Wendy's along London's Adelaide Street for a couple three dollar burgs and we were on our way home on a beautiful sunny September afternoon.  We rolled into the driveway about 4:30 and that was about it for another day.  Tired, but doing Okay...……..

  1. Yeah only two more to go. I am so very impressed how this is all panning out. Your flower shots are extraordinary, but the ones with the butterfly touch my heart.
Big hugs to Kelly and to you and the Pheebs.

  2. I had four infusions for my lymphoma and didn't lose any hair; I see you still have a head full of hair, so wonder what they are giving you. Good luck being past the halfway mark now.

  3. I wish I had hips and femurs like yours. LOL ... they look perfect in that photo. Mine didn't look like that 11 days ago. Now... really glad your treatment is going well. You have shown me and probably many others it might be less painful than what we imagine. 2 more to go then it's party time. :)
